Hyatt Place San Antonio/Riverwalk

I stayed at the Hyatt Place San Antonio/Riverwalk while visiting the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo. We arrived around midnight and didn’t realize the main entrance requires your room key to open the door at that hour. Since it was our first time staying there, we knocked to get inside. A staff member came to the door but spoke to us in a rather unfriendly way when explaining that we could use our key cards. It would have been nicer if it had been communicated more kindly. Our room did not have a microwave, so when my sister went to use the shared one available for guests, it was in very poor condition and looked very dirty. We also paid about $30 extra for parking. The room itself was very clean, which we appreciated. However, the bathroom was extremely small, and the door barely clear

Cute hotel right on the Riverwalk and not too far from restaurants. I stayed with a friend in a Riverwalk facing room--nice. Unfortunately the river was being cleaned during our stay, but the view was still nice. Bathrooms are very small but they do have rooms with showers only--definitely my preference, so request one of those if that's your preference too. Breakfast was sufficient and I appreciate the chicken sausage option on some days, so that's nice. The rooms don't have microwaves but Nader was so nice in helping me warm up my lunch one day, and really went above and beyond by checking in every once in a while, which was nice. We'd stay again if in the area

Check in was smooth, and he explained the parking situation. Room was a little warm once we arrived in the afternoon. Then it got a little warmer, even though the thermostat was set lower, so we called front desk and a technician was at our door very quickly. Ultimately he bypassed the thermostat and we controlled the temp from the unit itself, and it worked fine for us, cooling down as the evening progressed. The Manager ultimately stopped by to follow up and ask if it was all ok, which we thought was a nice move. We were able to walk to and from the Riverwalk safely, which was part of our goal for the evening. The breakfast was typical comp hotel breakfast and it was good and sufficient for us. We would definitely stay again.

Positive: Room was big and breakfast was great. Negative: Expense of parking was significant!! No all day complimentry coffee!

They gave us a room next to the elevator and something was wrong with it. It made such loud noises and once in while, it was so loud, it would startled us when we were trying to sleep. We called the front desk and they said maintenance team was already gone. No sound proofing whatsoever. We could hear people cough in the hallway. Got the worst sleep ever. Bathrooms is also unusually small. Even though it’s on the river walk, it’s not really a walkable part of it. The parking is definitely overpriced for the location. The rooms cleanliness is the only reason I’m giving 3 stars. I would not ever stay here again nor I recommend it
