Hyatt Place Dallas/Grapevine

Not a good experience for being a Hyatt brand. My first room had someone else in it when i entered. The next room had bed bugs. The last room was handicapped because they had nothing else. The place is rundown and in need of major renovation. The breakfast is not so good and the elevator stopped working a few times. The second elevator is permanently closed leaving only the stairs for a 6 story building. The female assistant night manager has a bad attitude. There is a new manager who is very nice and responsive. Hopefully he will be able to turn the place around but will need assistance from district and upper management. I would not recommend staying here in its present condition especially since there are other hotels in the same price range within walking distance.

I had to go to the DFW area for an emergency over the weekend. I wanted to stay where I was accustomed to the chain of hotels. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. This was the worst Hyatt Place I have ever stayed in. First and foremost it is in dire need of a remodel. It was not clean on the exterior nor did it appear very clean on the interior. The carpet in the hallway appeared filthy and there was definitely an odor. If not for being tired, we probably would have found another hotel to check in to. This hotel is located in the airport area. There are numerous hotel chains in this area. However, they are all overpriced. And after doing my research on bookings.com, some that should be four star are only three star. And after staying here now I know why. The check-in process was smooth.

First, if elevators are to be inspected yearly, the sticker in this elevator says it's out of compliance, red flag. I selected this hotel for my family due to the full breakfast. However, upon arriving at breakfast over an hour before it closed, with very few people present, items were out and the staff would not refill them when I asked kindly. Specifically, there was a bowl of berries with one serving left. I asked if there were more and the attendant came and took it and would not let me have the last serving.. (this was so odd) the toaster was also out of order. I asked about the fruit and the prepared oatmeal being refilled and I was dismissed by the breakfast attendant about both. We were very disappointed in the level of cleanliness of the room. You could not see anything, but the smell was not good. The elevators are as slow as snails. Their breakfast is absolutely horrible. Zero quality of food and many of the service pans were empty for 10 to 15 minutes.
