Hyatt Place Dallas / Rockwall

We have stayed here previously and the only issues we had were lack of breakfast items and plates during normal breakfast hours. So this visit to our son had us traveling with our 2 small dogs. We found out hotel was pet friendly so we booked a 3 night stay. Because I am also undergoing cancer treatment and have vision issues I brought plastic containers so I could get breakfast and take it to the room while my husband walked dogs. the hotel doesn’t have paper plates just hard small plastic plates and I couldn’t carry two. THe fest 2 mornings I had no issues. OUr last morning I noticed a member of staff staring at me. It is hard for me to read her name tag but she looked at me and rudely said “take out containers?” Very aggressive. I was shocked and I said “yes, we have dogs in the

I would have given the stay a higher rating if the breakfast was adequate. Since the breakfast was one of the specific reasons, we chose this hotel I had to go with a "poor" rating. The room was fine and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast did not meet expectations at all. We went down 30 minutes before it was to close. There was a place for eggs but none there and no more being made. There was syrup but no waffles and bagels but no cream cheese. The coffee was also cold. There are two ice machines in the hotel, and one was broken. I understand that is not always in their control, but it was annoying that there wasn't even a sign telling you to go to the other one.

The service is good, the staff are very accommodating. The breakfast held a decent variety with a solid offering of protein. However, I can't be confident that the sheets were changed or that the bathroom was mopped prior to us checking in. The room smelled a bit musty and the bathroom floor had a few spots. Maybe the spots were a few stray drops of cleaner that weren't caught, I don't really know.

I am extremely disappointed with my stay at this Hyatt Place. After staying just one night, I woke up with a large red, swollen bite on my arm that was not present prior to checking in. Given the timing and circumstances, this strongly suggests an insect bite originating from the room. This is unacceptable for a hotel under the Hyatt brand, where cleanliness and guest safety should be non-negotiable. I reported the issue and documented it with photos, but the experience alone was enough to seriously undermine my trust in this property. No guest should leave a hotel worrying about what they were exposed to while sleeping. I would strongly caution future guests to be vigilant, and I hope Hyatt management takes immediate and concrete action to address this issue.

Positive: Parking was spacious, and the rooms were quiet and clean. Negative: The fruit served Monday morning was soggy and tart and appeared to be left over from the weekend.
