Hyatt Place Columbia/Harbison

Pretty frustrated and disappointed at the experience I’m currently having at this property. We arrived in our rooms late this evening after traveling several hours for a funeral for a family member. Upon checking into the room, we noticed the tub was very dirty. I informed the front desk and they said they would address it. I waited and waited and no call or knock from housekeeping. I followed up with the front desk and was told that housekeeping was gone for the night. The manager also told the front desk staff that what I was seeing in the tub is just rust and that I should be okay with that. Unbelievable!! I stated this was not acceptable and that it needed to be addressed. The front desk said they would have the manager contact me again. I waited and waited again and no response. I ca

***UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT *** From the moment I arrived, the staff at this hotel were incredibly pleasant and helpful. As soon as I stepped in, a gentleman name Mike I believe noticed I was struggling with all my things and immediately stepped in to help, even pushing my cart all the way to my room. The housekeepers were also friendly, welcoming, and even offered great recommendations on places to eat. The General Manager, Tamicka, truly took the experience to another level. When I was heading out, she asked how everything was going. I mentioned a small issue, and she not only apologized right away but was already working to resolve it before I even returned. We stayed here and n a quick trip to go see Congaree National park. This was a great hotel!!!!!! Everyone was very friendly! The room was nice and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. The free breakfast was a great option with sausage, eggs, biscuits and really good gravy! It was a perfect place to stay to explore the area!!!! Im not sure what all the 1 star reviews are about but we have stayed in ALOT of hotels and this one was a good!!!! Would recommend it and stay there again!!

We have stayed here for at least the last 5 years but this will be the last time. It was really run down. The only plus was the bed was clean and the breakfast was good. And the people at the front desk were friendly. Last year they were renovating the front lobby, furniture looked good but the floors and carpet all ready looked terrible. In our room the floors looked like they had been mopped with a dirty mop. The towel rack above the tub was very rusty luckily there weren’t any towels on it. When we got up in the morning the heating unit had blown black mold on the bed. Thank goodness we didn’t sleep on that bed. We were terribly disappointed in our stay and won’t be back.

Positive: Location to the venue we were attending. Room was very good except the air conditioning unit was very noisy. Negative: I would have rated the Hotel higher had it been better prepared to handle the crowd that was there for baseball and soccer tournaments. The staff couldn’t keep up with the breakfast crowd and many of the food items were unavailable when we wanted them.
