Hyatt Place Bloomington/Normal

This is easily one of my worst hotel experiences. Even through whenever I got to talk with the front desk, they are friendly, I would like to point out something below. Bill: the receipt incorrectly included an extra charge that I had to call multiple times to address, especially after someone already mentioned they would call me back. House keeping: no house keeping service was performed during the first 2 days, and I requested house keeping on the 3rd day, it was confirmed they would come, however they never did. Later on, when I called again, I was given bed sheets to put on myself… Breakfast: I stayed there for 5 days, the fruit was always stale old, tastes of alcohol/fermantation. Oatmeal was not fully cooked either. Parking: the parking garage is across the street on the side of

An outstanding Hyatt Place! I with my daughter stayed the one night. Great room. Very clean, comfortable and beautiful. The front desk was very helpful when checking in and checking out! Parking is free. It is a parking garage down the street. Very nice hotel.

Positive: The hotel is wonderful. The staff at the front desk for check in was the worst check in experience of my travel life. The person on duty was challenged, which is fine, but he should not have been staffed or left alone at the check in desk. Negative: The staffing decision to leave a person who clearly doesn't understand the process of checking in guests was a complete fail. He didn't know how to process credit cards, find reservations, use the reservation confirmation number etc.

This was a very cute hotel and the front desk staff were exceptionally nice. It was a little expensive though. $200 a night is too much for me. But there is no Hyatt in Peoria and I decided to drive onto Bloomington so I could stay at a Hyatt and I am glad I did even though it was expensive. I normally like hotels with a side or a back door so I don’t have to walk my three small service dogs through the Around a bunch of people and possibly around other dogs. There was no other door other than the front door. I’m a very grateful that the front desk staff made us feel so welcome. They always said hi and usually made some comment about my dogs being cute and really made me feel welcome with the dogs.

I have stayed here a dozen times and always look forward to next time. Chose the largest room with the curved windows and it was well appointed and very clean. Nice thick towels and a walk in shower is a really nice touch. Breakfast was included, as was parking, saving another $30 no doubt. Right in the heart of the campus and Uptown Normal and has a vibrant feel with all the student activity. The hotel was spotless and the quick buffet breakfast is just enough to make it to lunch. I don't know why anyone would stay anywhere else unless you want to be near the freeways about 3 miles further out. Love this place.
