Hyatt House Richmond / Short Pump

I am extremely disappointed with how my Valentine’s Day weekend stay was handled — which also happened to be the weekend of my engagement. I specifically booked a premium suite for a full week directly through Hyatt, using my corporate account as a Hyatt member, because I trusted the brand to deliver a memorable, high-quality experience for such an important milestone. Unfortunately, the stay fell far below that expectation. During our visit, the water was shut off for extended periods on multiple occasions with no prior notice. Access to running water is a basic hotel amenity. These outages were disruptive, inconvenient, and unacceptable — especially during a weekend that required preparation and planning for a proposal. We had a great stay at this hotel. Everything was very clean, the breakfast was excellent with plenty of variety, and the staff was consistently friendly and welcoming. The location was also very convenient, which made getting around easy.||||The only downside to note is that the property does show some wear and tear — things like holes in the hallway carpet and very worn chairs could use some updating. That said, it didn’t take away from our overall experience, and we would still recommend this hotel for its cleanliness, service, and value.

Disgusting!!! Hyatt House Richmond / Short Pump leaves ALOT to be desired. Prior to booking we were not aware there was construction. Upon check in we noticed there was dust EVERYWHERE, but most importantly including in the rooms and in the corners. Okay. There was visible water damage in the shower and a “repair” that needed attention a long time ago. This once nice corner suite with the deep sunken soaking tub (no jets) had a crack in it and was also dirty. There was a noticeable ring in it. Not to mention the room was nasty. Hair (three different kinds) on the bedding, questionable eye raising stains, a clear face print with a hand right near it on the headboard, other dirty stained high traffic and high touch areas that with proper cleaning would not be there. We stayed here and had to extend our stay last minute. They have been nothing short of accommodating and very nice. The breakfast is great. We do wish they had a pool but it isn't a huge deal. They clean rooms daily, always make sure we have towels and things we need. Truly a great experience. They are begining renovations this week. Even with the rooms beimg older, they are in excellent condition. Hyatt will now be the only brand we stay at. Marriott and Hilton have gone down hill.

Positive: The hotel was more modern than I expected! The room was spacious, cozy and clean. Negative: The toilet was way too low, and the light over the mirror was not bright enough. There should be consideration to upgrade these items. It would also be helpful to have a makeup mirror, which can be found in most prominent/modern hotels.
