Hyatt House Belmont/Redwood Shores

I had an extremely disappointing experience during our long stay at this property. I originally booked a 2 bed / 2 bath unit well in advance. However, due to Super Bowl week, we were pushed into a 1 bed / 1 bath instead. It was very clear that short-term high-paying guests were given preference over long-stay customers like us. The room we were given was dirty, had no proper ventilation, and smelled bad. When I requested an upgrade, Michael and his team were not helpful at all. They quoted rates that were significantly higher than what was shown on their own website. There was zero effort to accommodate us despite our extended booking. Hygiene is a serious concern here. Hidden $30/night parking fee — not disclosed at booking We're repeat guests — stayed here for a full month just recently, and came back for another 20-day stay. This time we were surprised by a new $15/night per car parking fee that was never mentioned when we booked. With two cars, that's $30/night — over $600 for our 20-day stay. That's an entire month's budget for a nicer place that includes parking. It took 4 days just to get an answer on a waiver. The front desk kept repeating "I can't make that decision," and the manager was either in meetings or only available during limited hours. After all that waiting, the answer was a flat no — not negotiable, even for returning long-stay customers. Combine the location, room layout, and price , this is a great value. If you have large group, if you don’t like Airbnb (like me), a branded hotel that provides larger rooms/suites are the best. We have a group of 5, 4 adults and 1 kid. This 2 bedroom 3 trio bed room fits our needs perfectly. Everything works as expected. Quiet night, typical breakfast for hotels at this level, but better than none (if you need feed that many, save $$$ if go to a coffee shop ). The amenities are a bit old, can tell it is an old building, cleanning needs improving. Has red sticky stain on my bed. I am not a very picky person, I didn’t complain or asking for change. Overall, still like it. And we saw a raccoon family of 5 in the morning, how fun! 😂

It was comfortable, quiet and affordable. The rooms and furniture could use some upgrading/updating however. An explanation of how breakfast/snacks and housekeeping worked upon check-in would've been helpful as well.||The towels hadn't been changed out during our stay (we stayed 3 nights) and when I called down to the desk on our last morning for some fresh ones to shower before we left, they took way too long, over 30min. We ended up just reusing old ones.||It was the perfect mid-peninsula spot for us to meet with family to the north and the south. And the trio-suite was the perfect size for my family of 4. We would stay here again despite the few tiny hiccups.
