Hudson Whaler

This is my second time so far and many more to come because Exactly What To Say HQ - moved from NYC to Hudson NY. The Hudson Whaler hotel is absolutely charming and is located on the Main Street of town with easy walking distance to most of the local sights, restaurants, shops and EWTS HQ. When I entered the hotel, I was greeted by a very friendly staff member Christin. The lobby is very beautiful and charming Old World furnishings and decorations. My room was very comfortable with the modern up to date amenities. The most important part of any hotel room - The bed was the most comfortable firm mattress, very soft linens and several blankets, there was a large flat screen TV, fireplace. We used the Whaler as a base of operations for a family wedding in the area. Many of our family and guests stayed there as well as the other hotels in their group. The rooms are clean, comfortable and very nicely appointed. It is right in the center of town and within walking distance of many attractions, restaurants and shops. There is convenient parking right behind the hotel. Most importantly, Kristine who worked at the front desk all weekend was incredible. Not only was she friendly and welcoming but she worked out many challenges that arose for our guests over the weekend with good cheer and effort. She really set the perfect tone for our guests initial visit to Hudson. We are most appreciative! We wold certainly stay at the Whaler again.

I stay at The Whaler almost every time I visit Hudson. The rooms are comfortable, well designed, and the staff are always friendly. Check-in is a breeze and I love that you can park so close to the hotel. On previous visits, I've used their gym which is perfect for keeping up with routines, even while away. Perfect location!

Very nice hotel centrally located on Hudson’s main street, with plenty great restaurants and cafes nearby. Christine at reception is really lovely, and very welcoming. Rooms are great - double queen: clean, nice-sized bathroom (with great shower). Only thing to make it cozier was availability of coffee/snacks in reception area.

I recently stayed here for 3 nights. Overall, the hotel itself is decent—the rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. However, the mattress in my room was extremely uncomfortable. It was so hard that I found myself waking up every 10 minutes, which made it very difficult to get any rest. For the price I paid, I expected a much better sleep experience. If the beds were improved, this would easily be a higher-rated stay. I had to leave one day early to go home to actually sleep.
