Howard Johnson by Wyndham Oklahoma City Airport/ Fairgrounds

Stayed for one night. I paid for two. When we pulled up a drunk guy walked out and started throwing up in the bushes. We were on a non smoking floor however the whole floor smelled like weed. There were tons of vagrants, and hookers hanging out in front of the building. Also the person next door kept playing loud rock music all night. The check in lady was really nice. I asked for my money back for the night we weren’t going to stay. She said she would leave a message I have yet to be refunded my money. I will never stay there again. Go next door to the next hotel it’s nicer

I stayed at this location one night, paying about $47 before taxes, or $55 after taxes. I stayed at the home office suite. I was very impressed with the hotel for that price. I am used to getting old, rundown hotels for that price. But this place was incredibly nice. The room and bathroom were clean, the sheets and towels were clean and soft, and the furniture around the room was well taken care of. The fan in the bathroom rattled, but that was no problem once you turned it off. The one thing keeping this place from being 5 stars for me is the slow internet. I got 2 Mbps upload and download in the room, which is too slow to be usable, especially in a home office suite, where work is supposed to get done. For the price I paid, however, this room is still unbeatable.

Positive: Very clean hotel all around with excellent customer service. Had to change rooms when I got there, and the new keys were brought up to us! Breakfast was hot and plentiful even as a late comer. Would stay again! Negative: ""

The gentleman at check in was nice and friendly but that’s about the only positive thing to say. The pool was a dirty green colour. I asked him if it was safe to swim in and he assured me it was but trust me I wouldn’t have let my dog swim in there, such a shame as it would have been a great asset. The bedroom smelt musty and stale a bit like it had been a smoking room and needed a good airing. Unsure if there are folks living there but as we sat by the pool (trying to have a quick rest) all we could hear was a couple arguing on and on and the smell of weed. Lots of homeless around the area. If you are reading this because you are driving route 66 or similar then this is a genuine review (not staff), please look elsewhere.

The lady @ the front desk kept arguing with me & my boss about the payment. To find out the lady gave my boss the wrong email address & lied to my boss. She told my boss that Howard Johnson had a shuttle bus but when I called she told me they don't have one. Then my wife called the general manager of Howard Johnson & he saw where my room was paid for. The lady even argued with her boss about the payment. Then there was another couple was checking in. The gentleman was in a wheelchair. They was @ a hospital all day. So when they checked in they had to pay extra $10.00 for a room on the first floor because Howard Johnson doesn't have a elevator. So I won't recommend anyone staying @ Howard Johnson on 800 South Meridian Ave in Oklahoma City Ok.
