Howard Johnson by Wyndham Beaufort/Parris Island

This was the most dilapidated place that I have ever had the displeasure of staying at! It's literally falling apart everywhere! I slept with the light on because I was worried about bugs. I almost slept in my car but my husband needed a few hours sleep after driving over 12 hours. We checked in before midnight and we're up and out of our room before 5am. The one staff member I saw during check out was pleasant aand the staff I viewed from a distance appeared to be working hard. The sheets and towels looked and smelled clean (bleach) however the hallway and room had a musty damp smell. Check in was a kiosk. No humans to be seen. I'm legally disabled. There was no parking near my room. We we're on the 2nd floor. There is no elevator. The bathroom had no fan, no hair dryer but plenty of mold

Positive: The view of the marsh! Beautiful!!, Great location, room was clean, helpful staff Negative: Pool was chained at gate, fighting outside our room, a couple of bugs in room ( not bed bugs, but a roach and silver fish), needs renovation

This place was an absolute joke. Grass littered with garbage, cigarette butts , and cat feces. The hallway smelled like marijuana and cat piss. The room was musty and there was mold in the tub. The pool wasn't open. No hot breakfast. No WiFi. No clean towels. Stray cats on property. Lots of adult males wandering the property after dark. I didn't feel safe. ||I'll be calling the coordinator for USMC Parris Island to take this hotel off of recommended hotels and the area.

We will never stay here again . We booked on line and paid. When we get to the hotel you have to talk into a computer screen to a foreigner who barley speaks hard to understand english , they said my payment wasn't there i needed to repay. I had the confermation numbers texts and phone receipts. Finale after 30 more minutes of trying to understand this forein6er on the screen they find my reservation. There is an additional charge for staying in there hotel . Our room was dirty the lamps didnt work the floors hadnt been swepted or vaccined the only good thing i will say is the pillows were comfortable. I intend to write the owners i am that upset. People do not stay here

I was very pleased with the room, that was extremely comfortable so were the pillows, fresh towels everyday that were soft. Very easy to find while traveling. But most of all was very quiet at night.
