Anchorage 1770

What a fabulous inn! The home is incredible with updated, old southern charm - Top on our list were the hand carved staircase, painted ceilings, the 3 beautiful porches, an outstanding breakfast, and a friendly, helpful innkeeper! It was a wonderful get away, and we will definitely be back! We had 406 which has a spectacular view of the marina, the Beaufort River, and Bay Street in town!

The Anchorage 1770 is as close to perfect as you’ll ever find. The owners and staff are charming and accommodating. My room was large, comfortable and old world elegant. I could watch the sunset over the water from my window, or from the porch, and it was spectacular every single day. Even the included breakfast was noteworthy. I hope to return for an even longer stay soon.

This place is an absolute gem! We had such a good time. The area is full of history. There is so much history in this house and the owners do a great job sharing it. From the numbered windows, to the hideaway booze shelves in the walls and the carvings in the ceilings it’s absolutely beautiful. The owners are so kind, we traveled from Florida and I didn’t bring a warm enough jacket for the cold snap they were having and she loaned me a jacket to use. All of the staff was great. Breakfast was good, and they even made gluten free options for me for breakfast and for the nightly treat they bring to the rooms. You are walking distance to the downtown stores and restaurants. We will be back for sure.

Had the absolute best stay at The Anchorage Inn! The accommodations were excellent, the food was outstanding, and the location couldn’t be better—close to everything you need in Beaufort. Frank & Amy are truly the best hosts and made our stay feel extra special. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back!

We stayed at this historic inn and unfortunately our experience did not reflect the five-star standard the property promotes. Pros: The view from the room was stunning, the location is walkable to shops and dining, parking was easy, and the evening cookies were a nice touch. The staff were consistently friendly, helpful, and professional. Every staff member was absolutely amazing. The history of the inn is impressive and well communicated. Cons: In our room, chairs had soiled upholstery, decorative pillows appeared unwashed and had hair on them, and there was dirt in corners of room. A significant issue was that roaches of various sizes were present every evening in the bathroom, which made the room seem unsanitary and uncomfortable.
