Hotel RL Cleveland Airport West by Sonesta

I honestly don’t even want to give this hotel any stars. It was a complete construction mess and looked condemned upon arrival. I could understand some construction once in a while- but the place was completely dirty and unorganized. There was no upkeep of anything whatsoever. Things broken. No AC throughout- thank goodness it DID work in the room. I don’t even know how this place is allowed to be running. If we weren’t on a time constraint upon arrival- we would have asked for our money back and went to a different hotel.

I had a reservation here for a business trip, and when I drove up, I called my travel office to book something else because I thought this place was closed. The lot is overgrown, there’s construction debris everywhere, and random windows and balcony doors were missing. There’s a big “Hotel RL Coming Soon!” sign on the side of the building, and a smaller sign in the parking lot saying that it’s a Holiday Inn. Apparently they’re actually still open and renting rooms, but I can’t imagine anyone wanting to stay in a half-gutted active construction site.

Do. Not. Stay. Here. Allegedly this place is getting renovated soon; but until then it should not be operational. Mold, mold, and more mold. Peeling wallpaper. Uncomfortable beds. Showers that barely pass as showers (hey you'd save a bunch of $ on water if you made it so the shower didn't take 10 minutes to warm up). The fitness center is definitely one to skip. If you like waffles and bagels for breakfast AND NOTHING ELSE you're in luck. Seriously I get that you gotta make money but this felt like a ripoff. My kudos to the staff though, everyone I spoke to was friendly and attentive. Please don't thank for me for leaving this review, focus on getting your hotel fixed up.

Do not stay here!! This place should not be allowed to operate in its current condition. The whole place is a construction zone and the rooms are filthy. Couch was dirty, toilet was dirty, beds were dirty and there was dust everywhere. I could go on an on but you get the picture. Oh yeah to top it off the guy at the front desk had an attitude. Don’t stay here if you value cleanliness and good service.

We booked this place through what we thought was Sonesta for a little birthday gathering for my daughter, and when we got here i couldn’t believe it was this place. We were so tired from the full day we had already had and decided to stay. Never again. If its being renovated then throw the whole building away. We had to carry our own towels and blankets to room. Its gloomy it smells bad in the hallways. We had to basically clean the room again because it gave motel not hotel. Not to mention someone’s shoe in the room which we did not touch. The kids had fun but there is no way i am coming back here. Close it. Start over. This was no way to represent Sonesta.
