Hotel MdR Marina del Rey - a DoubleTree by Hilton

The room have been renovated recently and are nice. Bed is comfortable. The hallways are tired but the lobby is updated. Staff was pleasant and helpful. The breakfast did not have an option that would be included for the Gold level credit which was disappointing. There are a lot of restaurants etc within easy walk, but it's a long drive to see the sights around LA. You'll need a car to get around.

This hotel should not be called a Hilton. I love Hiltons. This is a cheap looking, uncomfortable place to which I will never return. It is not in the best location. I live near by and made the mistake of booking my friends there and I stayed as well so we could get to the eateries I wanted to show them and a little of the shopping. All that was fine, but has nothing to do with the Hilton. The rooms are not kept up and we all had to wait over an hour for our room to be ready and when we got in, one room had not had maid service. It was a mess. Our room was okay with a very old uncomfortable bed and boring sheeting. The bathroom was small and there were not enough towels for two people. The front desk seems to have no idea what they are doing. They gave me the wrong bills, I paid for two

This hotel is great. |Lovely amenities and a heated pool.|It has a holiday feel and everything you need for a few days in LA. It’s well located, close to the marina and some good shops and restaurants very close by. Try the Yardhouse across the road, it’s great.|Bedrooms are spacious with two double beds. Bathrooms are okay too.|Overall this was a great 1st stop for our 15 day trip around the West Coast. |Oh and breakfast is well worth getting. You can sit inside or outside. Service was excellent.

I don’t feel it’s Hilton level. The rooms are just standard, some are noisy. The service quality varies from a guy for member checkin who was professional and friendly. At normal checkin the service was simply bad and somehow did not like me or probably any customer. For 250 usd a night, it’s not worth it.

In general, property is good with excellent location, rooms are nice and clean and staff is extremely nice and helpful. Downside: 1. It can get a bit noisy as location is closer to a hospital and sirens can be clearly heard through the poorly insulated balcony doors. 2.Only one slow elevator working and the other elevator had an out of order sign for the entire week stay with no target date for fixing. 3.Room cleaning is only done upon request
