Customer Reviews
We stayed at hotel Gibbs for the first time the other night, and loved it! This is a very unique hotel, with great staff. Sara at the front desk did an amazing job at making us feel welcome right when we walked in, and was very accommodating. It’s getting harder to find people like Sara in the Customer service world, she did a great job! Rooms were clean, the hotel was also updated beautifully. I love that they respected the age of the building by leaving the original elevators, vintage finishing touches such as original marble, etc. It’s also in a wonderful location, super walkable. Next time we come to San Antonio, we will keep Hotel Gibbs at the top of our list!
Stayed for 5 days booked a suite with an Alamo view - trust me, you cannot see the Alamo from our room! . We picked due to location. Location is good. Building works opposite - but you cannot hear any noise.|Room was big. Comfy bed. Breakfast good. Staff friendly/helpfull. |Valet is separate from hotel - expensive - but all staff great. ||There is a bar but it only serves flower wine so we didn't stay||Would I stay again - yes
Great location, but the experience was disappointing. The building is beautiful and the room was comfortable, but housekeeping was almost nonexistent: in three days they only changed the bath towels, never made the bed, and didn’t clean properly. When we arrived, there were no glasses, and the ones they brought were just paper disposables. Not even a complimentary bottle of water. The elevators are slow and constantly used by staff, causing long waits. And worst of all, on our last night we found a cockroach over two inches long in the room. Considering the price, the hotel feels overrated and poorly supervised. Great location in San Antonio, but the management needs serious improvement.
This is a hidden gem in downtown San Antonio!!! I've stayed here twice and have loved both experiences. The hotel is an older boutique hotel and hidden behind construction but you'll love staying here. Rooms are clean and have everything you need. The queen room is small but the king rooms are pretty spacious and you get a good deal for either. There is a decent free breakfast and they provide tickets for free wine tasting. The staff is great. It's definitely worth a try!
Came to San Antonio for a few days. Upon our (very late) arrival we were greeted by Jennie who made sure all our needs were met. Throughout the stay, Sarah and the general manager (David, I think) were very friendly and helpful. The location of this hotel is perfect and the free breakfast was very high quality. Would return again!
