Hotel de la Monnaie

Our experience was literally FLAWLESS! There’s no way it could have been any better. The decor, the intimacy, the mood…better than any place we’ve ever visited and we are travelers! SUSAN at the front desk was like an Aunt you go visit and she has all the love and joy to share. She took care of EVERYTHING and was very personable and made us feel as if we were the only guests. The gentleman who works at night recommended us to THE BEST burger joint (Port of Call) and was so friendly! The bed and breakfast atmosphere made it quiet but not stuffy, intimate but not small, personal but not smothering. Our suite was perfect and full of character. Susan at the front desk was especially helpful to us, both regarding the hotel itself, the very limited parking, and the nearby areas. The resort is a very old building that has maintained its charm. The units are small and eclectic. Tiny kitchen, and very limited storage space. But charming. Loved the open atrium. Appreciated that we were not pushed toward any sales presentations here. We would definitely come back again.

This place is awful, The room was filthy and missing several necessity’s, jacuzzi didn’t work!…Which is why we picked that hotel!Bed feels like a rock and the service was terrible. Would not recommend. Stay in Hammond or somewhere on the edge, much nicer buildings and cheaper. You will feel much safer as well, I had a homeless person not far outside the front entrance of the hotel come begging me for our leftovers… which I did give. Just expect that sort of thing as well

This was our first stay in NOLA since 1999. It was dramatically different but still had that magical vibe it always had. The hotel is a beautiful historic property in a great location at the end of the French Quarter that allows easy walking to everything. The property is clean, well maintained and rooms are spacious and well appointed.
