Our stay at Hotel 1928 in Waco was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that every inch of the property is thoughtfully designed and meticulously maintained. The attention to detail is impressive — from the decor to the small touches that make the hotel feel unique and welcoming. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel at home throughout our stay. Breakfast and dinner at the first-floor restaurant were outstanding — creative, delicious, and beautifully presented. A highlight was definitely ending the evening with a drink at the rooftop bar. The views over Waco are stunning, and it’s the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring the city. Overall, Hotel 1928 combines excellent service, design, and location, making it a top choice f

So excited to be here. This property is charming. The historic features of the hotel remain in place while adding modern conveniences discreetly to match today’s needs. The room is huge and so quiet. The staff is so friendly and gracious. The food on the restaurant is wonderful. This is a definitely on my list as a place I will return to again and again. You won’t be disappointed.

The hotel, room, staff were all 5 stars, we had dinner in the Birtie dining room. First of all, very limited entree menu, no complimentary dinner rolls or home made bread available even to purchase. My wife had the 1/2 chicken at $28, it was just like the roasted chicken at the local diner, just okay, nothing special, no potatoes served with it, just a few unidentifiable vegetables. I had the $33 salmon, very tasty but very tiny, a good amount of delicious asparagus, no rice or potato served. My sister and brother in law had the “lobster” pasta, again tasty and tiny portion, not much lobster to be seen, the portion size you would expect at a diet retreat, not a so called fine dining experience. The wait staff was very friendly, the whole establishment was very clean, but the restauran

From the time you walk in, you feel like you’re stepping back into an era of elegance and class. The hotel has a beautiful retro decor with all modern amenities. Every detail is meticulously crafted. The hotel staff could not be more professional and polite, and eager, too assist in your experience. The turndown service is excellent and one of the unique experiences was when I would return to my room in the evening to find fresh cookies on the side table, and the room had been prepared for bed with all the curtains drawn and the decorative pillows neatly stacked on the side of the room. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with this hotel, and it will be my go to place in Waco.

So we were in there Saturday night for a gala to close out Grand Lodge. We had the whole hotel for a private event and were able to walk around and explore. The fourth floor is very nice with an outdoor patio we were able to take some great pictures with the Grand Lodge of Texas in the background. We had heavy hors d'oeuvres served, beef and chicken sliders some cheese and crackers and wings. All were very tasteful and well done. We did explore the library in the basement which used to be coal storage, Way back in the day in the early 20s and 30s. All of the books in the library apparently used to belong to Larry McMurtry, which is cool. And it is a nice area to sit and chat with other guests... Of course I'm not that old, but it seemed to me to be rather reminiscent of a day gone by when
