Homewood Suites by Hilton Washington DC Convention Center

My husband and I had a comfortable week long stay at this hotel. All of the staff are wonderful. From housekeeping and front desk to the breakfast cooks and staff, exceptional service. Breakfast and free coffee all day was great. Being a 3 star hotel, some things were expected like the cheaper fabric for the bedding, wear and tear on the headboard and floor. But overall we had a good stay. The location is great and there is a Safeway across the street which is great for buying snacks etc.

Lovely hotel. Rooms are spacious and well-equipped, in a great location. The staff are what makes the place stand out though - everyone was friendly, welcoming and really helpful.

LOCATION -this hotel is just a mile away from Union Square Station so we were able to walk with our luggage easily, also a mile from the White House and under a mile from museums and shops. There is a Safeway supermarket straight over the road and restaurants and takeaways too. Area felt safe and I would run early each morning.|ATMOSPHERE - we had a very friendly chap check us in who was super friendly each morning when we saw him. All staff were friendly from check in to check out. The other guests were friendly too which created an overall friendly environment.|BREAKFAST - there are not many tables available but we found that the quietest time is right at the beginning of breakfast time. $300 deposit at check in $55-65 a day for parking plus $10 service fee daily for parking. The included free buffet breakfast weekdays till 9 am and weekends till 10 pm was very convenient for us. We had an issue with our shower and had to have someone come up and fix it. No cots or rollaways available here. My son made a small bed out of sofa cushions and slept on the floor. We had a suit that was two double beds and a pull out sofa bed. So that’s perfect for a family of 5 with small children. We have three big teenagers so it was a tight fit but it worked for our dc vacation. We drove into downtown Dec and paid $30 for garage parking each day. Overall we had a good experience. The room was nice and spacious. The hotel offered free breakfast and there is grocery store right across the street. There is parking available on site but for a fee. We stayed two nights and were charged for 3 nights of parking; it was a hassle to get a refund for the additional night they charged. Although the hotel is non smoking, guests were obviously smoking in their rooms and the smell permeated the entire floor. When we checked in, the room was clean. The lobby is very nice and comfortable.
