Homewood Suites By Hilton South Bend Notre Dame Area

We were here to visit family. It is on the lower end of the Hilton brand but this hotel exceeded what we were expecting. The staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was basic but good enough, with a few hot offerings along with cereal and bagels, etc. We had a two queen bed suite with a pull out couch. The room was clean, fixtures were newer, and it had a simple kitchen. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. There is a well-equipped gym and laundry room. It's a good value at this price point.

his hotel falls well below Hilton standards. The sliding bathroom door wouldn’t stay open, so they’d rigged a cheap gate latch that didn’t even close properly. Hot water took five minutes to warm up, then ran cold just as fast. The fridge didn’t cool, the door latch didn’t align, and the “Queen Suite” was actually a full-size bed. And that’s just the start—there’s more. Disappointing all around.

A wonderful, humble lady that makes you feel at home here ensuring you that you picked the right place. For the Hilton company, GIVE THIS AMAZING STAFF MEMBER A RAISE!!! Make sure to keep her here employed, cuz as long as you have amazing people like her here, I will make reservations here EVERY SINGLE TIME! Overall, the lobby and general bedroom were clean and nice. The workout room was first class. The problem was the bathroom in our room was unclean. The floor had several hairs, tissue in the corner, and the shampoo dispenser pump was broken. Also, our door deadbolt did not work. I did not discover this until late that night. I informed the front desk the next morning. Instead of waiting until we checked out, the repairman came and repaired the lock while leaving our door wide open and tools in our bedroom..........kinda strange in my book.

I stayed six nights during the week of Christmas. Overall, I enjoyed my stay, but the property is clearly in need of renovation.
