Quality Inn & Suites South Bend Airport

This hotel is for someone who just wants to lay their head somewhere for the night. Just to walk in the front door was NOT refreshing. The audacity to require a signature for no smoking and no pets. The room TV is cheap and small that had a remote that didn't work and required a screw driver to get the battery door off. When asked for batteries for the TV. He brought another remote that has worn out numbers. The bath tube has black filth, and soap scum and calcium buildup on the handles and shower head. Stained bathroom towels(Ugh).There was a iron but no ironing board. The microwave has mold inside. There is a hole in the ceiling where something is supposed to be ( but it's not there). This is clearly a hotel that has seen better days with an owner who doesn't want to spend a dime to improve it. It needs to have a full renovation soon before it gets downbranded to OYO.||In the morning, there was no hot water for a shower. The piston on the desk chair was broken so that it would not stay elevated. There was a crack in the wall plate for the light switch in the batch. The TV was useless; the screen was smaller than the mini-fridge door and no channels were programmed in meaning trying to find a program was hit-and-miss.||Good luck navigating the parking lot on foot in the winter; the owner is too cheap to have it salted so there's ice everywhere.||The scrambled eggs and sausage at breakfast were the only bright point in my stay.||The indoor pool was closed; it appeared the

Positive: I liked that there were no Bed Bugs or Roaches which is a start. Negative: A lot of things. Showers were broken. Had to switch rooms because of it. Keycards failed half the time so I needed to master key to get into the room. Breakfast was mediocre at best. overall felt low class.

I cannot recommend this hotel and the staff more. I booked a stay here for a Notre Dame football game months ago, and upon arrival, I learned that the third party agent cancelled the booking and did not inform me or refund me my money (that is another issue - never use or trust ALGOTELS as a booking agent). The management at this location, not only made sure we got a room, but price matched what the original booking was 3 months ago. Awesome experience.

The pool was closed with a health department notice posted stating that bacteria levels were high and could cause major health issues. The room consistently smelled like old food for our entire stay. Bathroom door was broken/busted with no way to close/lock was busted out of the door. Shower had no water pressure and leaked all over the floor. 2/3 of the amenities listed on the website were not available ie: gym/workout room, pool, Wi-Fi did not work, no weekday newspaper. Manager was not helpful.
