Homewood Suites by Hilton San Antonio North

This hotel is in a great location. It’s nice and large with both a kitchenette and a living room. Plus the little dining table is great for purses and backpacks. There’s plenty of space in the bedroom even with two queen beds. The bathroom is large too. The young man who checked us in late that night was really friendly. |I took off one star because as always the pillows are rubbish. Plus there’s nowhere to put anything on when you’re in the water closet where the toilet and shower are. There is a towel rack but small items can fall through. Plus the light switch for the water closet is outside on the wrong side of the door. Obviously not a deal breaker but a pain when you get up in the middle of the night and forget to turn the light on then you have to open the door again

Dennis checked us in yesterday and immediately set the tone—friendly, professional, and welcoming. We were in town for a concert in San Antonio, and overall this hotel was a really solid choice. Cleanliness matters to me, and you can usually tell right away. There were no odors, which says a lot, and aesthetically I was very pleased. The property felt well cared for and comfortable. The staff across the board—from the front desk to housekeeping—was genuinely friendly and helpful. Breakfast this morning was better than expected. Yes, it’s a continental-style setup, but the waffle batter was actually really good (added chocolate chips and took it to another level). The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly, and the location was convenient. Breakfast was tasty with plenty of options.

The common areas are fine. The breakfast in the morning generous. Beds are hard, furniture is dirty. Air conditioner & fridge not working. Mold in the shower and outside of it. How hard is it to spray some bleach? Probably exacerbated by the re-caulking done by a 5 year old. Hard beds, no AC and microfiber sheets are. Or a fun combo for menopausal women.

Location is hard to get to, due to construction and maps that aren’t updated. Floors have a stench that’s mixed with bleach, possibly covering the smell of mold. Service was fine, the front clerk was friendly and informative, but your room isn’t cleaned daily. Woke up to 2 roaches on my table, and was able to kill one of the demons as proof. Would not recommend to stay or eat here.
