Homewood Suites by Hilton Port St. Lucie-Tradition

This is a 3.5-4 star ranking. I’ve stayed at this hotel several times over the past few years and at this point, it’s in real need of renovation. It felt run down and not adequately funded for maintenance or guest experience. I typically stay for over a week so I get to know the property well. The staff is exceptional. If they were given more tools to work with, they could deliver a fantastic hotel stay. The breakfast is probably one of the best free breakfasts offered by hotel; better than many paid breakfasts. The gym and pool area are also excellent, though it would be nice if they could fix the water cooler to provide cool water. A comfortable enough stay, albeit very brief as I was really only passing through.||Absolutely fabulous staff at check-in: friendly, warm and very welcoming.||Huge room with a separate bedroom and two separate air-conditioners that worked well. One thing I did not like about my room is that it smelt very, very musty and like wet dog, especially in the bedroom and bathroom — gross.||Some furniture, and the hotel in general, is definitely a little bit worse for wear and has probably seen better days — wonky tables, chipped cabinets, broken handles, older microwaves and fridges … carpet is also a little bit mankey. I would also give cleanliness a 3.5 out of 5.||Pretty good gym (I’m a gym junkie) — spacious and with everything you might need … except those all-important sanitizing wipes.||Very

Positive: The breakfast. Negative: The elevators were not working when we arrived. The hotel should have given some credit for that. So we checked in late when just one elevator was working.The room we got had dirty odor. The housekeepers are too noise.

As soon as we checked in we were greeted by a very sweet young lady named Tony-Ann W. She was pleasant and talked so highly of this hotel and the owners of the hotel. She described how they strive for excellence and are very strict about how everything looks. We agree with her. We said is this a new hotel and she said it’s been here since 2009. My husband and I couldn’t believe it because it looks so clean and it is. Just like she said the room is clean and the bed is comfortable. I just booked my stay at Homewood Suites by Hilton Port St. Lucie–Tradition, and Joseph made the entire process effortless. His customer service was exceptional! Extremely helpful, friendly, and joyful throughout the call. It’s rare to receive such great service before even stepping foot on a property. Hilton is lucky to have him, this man deserves a raise! Looking forward to my stay.
