Homewood Suites by Hilton Nashville-Airport

We had a great stay at the Homewood Suites Nashville Airport. While we encountered a minor technical glitch at check-in, the way the staff handled it was exceptional. • Problem-Solving Staff: The gentleman at the front desk was incredibly helpful when we had trouble getting into our room. Even though we had to wait for the engineer to return from lunch, the engineer arrived promptly afterward and fixed the key card reader right away. Both were extremely apologetic for the delay. • Above-and-Beyond Service: Due to staffing, the morning shuttle wasn't running, but the hotel didn't leave us stranded—they provided a complimentary Lyft to the airport, which was a huge stress-relief. • Family-Friendly Breakfast: Traveling with my wife and two young kids can be hectic, so having breakfast ready

Positive: Check-in desk attendant was friendly and he tried hard to ensure my satisfaction for problems that were not his responsibility. Hotel management was responsive, courteous and helpful while respectfully addressing the issues that occurred. Negative: Airport shuttle not available - mechanical problems. Could not return rental car to rental facility upon arrival requiring parking on property for which I was charged . No TV service

I was a little disappointed. The day before check-in, I received an email advising that I could check in and choose my rooms (I reserved 2 rooms). I attempted to check in, but could not select my rooms. I tried again to check in, and the system then said I could check in, but they'd assign the rooms. They assigned my two rooms next to each other, which is what I needed. I then received a message that said, "Your rooms at Homewood Suites by Hilton Nashville-Airport are ready, Stephanie! As a Gold member, text us anytime. How can we help with your stay?" I hadn't arrived at the hotel yet, but when I arrived and checked the rooms, one room was fine; the other room had not even been cleaned. Pros|Staff was excellent and helpful|Wednesday night social was great|Breakfast and parking were excellent||Cons|Checked in and no one told me pool was down for maintenance. This was not a maintenance issue, pool has severe algae. This pool has not been serviced in a while. Severe algae like that doesn't appear after a few days or a week. |Note: see photo attached ||House Cleaning|Front Desk said room would be cleaned every other day during our stay. On first sight this hotel seemed fine, but as you head to your room you start to notice why it’s just a 3 star hotel. As you exit the elevator, Our floor proudly displays it is 100% smoke free but ad you walk down the all it wreaks of pot. Thankfully inside our room didn’t stink. However, there was not hand soap or shampoo in our room - they clearly don’t check the bottles when they clean because they were bone dry. At least the rest of the room looked clean and our linens seemed fresh. Bed was pretty comfortable. The furnishes seemed updated and fairly new too. The size of the rooms are nice and it’s not far from the airport which is just what we needed.
