Homewood Suites by Hilton Galveston

As a Hilton Gold member, this was honestly one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. First, the staff was extremely rude and unhelpful throughout the stay. When I asked about a slightly later checkout, I was only given one extra hour, even though the hotel appeared to be nearly empty. For a Gold member, that level of flexibility should not be difficult. The restroom door in the room had issues and clearly needed maintenance. Small things like this really affect the comfort of the stay. I also asked the front desk for an extra mattress, and the response I received was very unprofessional. Amazing staff! Especially Ricky at the front desk. We were there visiting a family member in the hospital. Stayed in the hotel for about a month. Ricky was so kind and accommodating. We really don’t know what we would of done with him or the other staff who were also very kind.. Breakfasg was great. We never go tired of it after a month there. Great drip coffee. They held social hour on Wednesday nights was a nice treat to look forward to. The room are nice and well kept. We tried going to an Airbnb due the long stay and but it had pests. They welcomed us back and also encouraged us to find resources with the hospital that offered us get a discounted rates in our stay. Also helped save money by signing up for our Hilton honors. Positive: Location Negative: the 15 dollar resort fee per night. TV not working correctly.

I stayed one night at Homewood Suites by Hilton Galveston and have mixed feelings about my experience. The hotel is in an excellent location. It is literally across the street from Stewart Beach, which was the main reason I booked this hotel. I also booked because of how close it is to the Carnival cruise port, and the distance was perfect. The location truly could not be better. The outside of the hotel and the lobby were clean, modern, and looked very nice. Unfortunately, several issues during our stay caused me to rate this hotel lower than expected. We requested an early check in and were given a specific time when our room would be ready. When we returned, the front desk informed us there would be an additional thirty minute wait. The care and consideration we experienced from Sabrina and Cicely was top-notch. We arrived a little bit early and they promised to notify us as soon as our room was ready. They went above and beyond while we waited to make sure we were comfortable and warmed up some food for us. This has been a very long trip with a few snags, but our stay here allowed us to relax and take a deep breath before continuing our journey. The breakfast was attended, kept hot, fresh and full. The hotel itself was quiet and comfortable. We will certainly stay again if we are in the area.
