Homewood Suites by Hilton Dulles-North/Loudoun

I'm seeing my story is not a unique one and looking at older reviews, these aren't new issues. No one ever at the front desk, key card never works, because key cards never work, people prop open the back/side entrances to the building, and if you do get to speak with someone at the front desk they are just like, "yeah, its not just you". Of course the manager says that the locks are going to be changed "in the next couple of days", but I've been here three weeks and nothing has changed at all. The sent someone from engineering up to look at my lock, and he said it was an issue with how they are programming it at the front desk. ||I also ran into an issue with no shampoo in my shower and couldn't reach anyone at the front desk and there isn't a "guest services/housekeeping" button on

It was a very quiet and clean place. Everything was beyond expectations.

For starters my room key had to be reset every day. There was rarely anyone at the front desk when I need to get my room key programmed, just a sign directing customers to the front desk at the embassy suites next door. So, I had to walk the embassy suite daily to get my room key programmed. They charged and attempted to charge my company credit card multiple times to the point it was over the limit. They then proceeded to ask for another card after I showed them the charges that they initiated on the card. My shower had mold in it. It's close to the airport, so you hear the flights all the time.

I'm not sure why there are negative reviews about this hotel. I can only share my 2 day stay here and it was very nice. Any staff I interacted with were pleasant and friendly. Check in was easy. The lobby and halls and elevator were very clean and refreshed. My studio room (302)was clean and had everything you needed. Yes, there were some minor maintenance issues and scuffs on the furniture and walls but far from bothersome. My only minor complaint was it was time for new bedding. The duvet coverlette thing had a lot of pulls and strings hanging from it and the mattress was not terrible, just not the most comfortable. The parking fee is annoying. I was told it would be refunded but it was not. I could maybe understand if the property was in a congested area, but it's kind of in the middle

We were in Ashburn to visit family. Our family stays at Hilton properties many times per year and we don’t expect luxury from a Homewood Suites, but this property is not up to standard. I will list the problems we encountered in just one night stay. Side property door doesn’t close and lock. A serious safety issue. And our room door also didn’t lock upon closure. We had to push it shut each time. No soap in the kitchen or bathroom to wash hands. No trash can in the bathroom. Kitchen sink leaked. Refrigerator had rusty shelves. No digital key. And they charge $15 to park in a suburban travel sports style hotel parking lot. Insanity. We will search for a better property when returning to visit our family.
