stayed at HomeTowne Studios & Suites Greensboro from February 28 to March 2, 2026. At check-in I was required to pay a $200 security deposit because I had my dog with me. I understood that deposits can be used for cleaning if needed, which is reasonable, but what happened after checkout was extremely confusing and frustrating. After my stay, I called the property to ask about the return of the deposit. During that call I was told by an employee that $120 would be deducted for pet hair cleaning and that the remaining $80 would be refunded. While I didn’t necessarily agree with that amount, at least it sounded like a clear explanation. However, when I called again later to follow up on the refund, a different employee told me that the entire deposit was being kept. I asked for clarificatio

Absolutely Misrepresented|In reality, the place is a total dump |The photos were obviously taken when it was owned by somebody else that cared .|When I was checking in, my wife was accosted in the parking lot the multiple drug deals going on in the parking lot|Inside the property had the strong odor of cannabis.|After an hour, we grabbed our luggage that we didn’t even unpack and moved to a better hotel. |I told the manager that I would not write any bad reviews if he gave me a full refund, which he did not.|I strongly urge anybody staying here to be armed and have a dog to stay in your car.

Positive: Nothing! the drug activity takes away from what it could offer! Negative: Unfortunately this location has absolutely no security and there are substance abusers who stand outside of the entrance and exit getting high daily especially at night. The staff is aware and unfortunately it is the culture of this hotel.

First let me say I booked for 5 nights but had to leave a day early so requested a refund but so far no refund. THe good!!!! The bed was comfortable, the a/c and heat worked fine, the tv and remote was fine, the fridge was usable and the microwave was okay. The stove, I'm not saying it was old but it was used by Davy Crockett. Wierd building..you walk into the main floor but to get to a first floor room you have to walk up about 12 stairs and then down about 12 stairs and the stairs seem to be at a steep angle. . Front desk closes 10pm and reopens at 7am next morning. Don't knoiw what you do if there is an emergency? There are houses behind the building and people sitting in their cars in back and front. Some were smoking cigarettes and there may have been some illigal activities going on

When we first went in to check-in, we had to wait over ten minutes for anyone to acknowledge that we had walked in. Upon walking into the room we were given, there was massive cockroaches. The room we had booked was supposed to have two queen beds but there was only one. We went to the lobby and the hotel clerk, she not only informed us there were no more room like what we had booked, her attitude was horrible. Needless to say, we got a refund as quick as possible and found a different hotel to stay at. 10000/10…DO NOT STAY THERE!
