Around 11:30 pm on December 3rd, my wife and I checked in to the Home2 Suites Charleston and were assigned Room 123, a king bedroom suite, as we had reserved with a prepaid reservation made through a travel agency. Immediately upon entering the room we were confronted with a strong mold or mildew odor. We asked the front desk if there was another room available, and was told there was not. We were tired and it was late, so we decided to go to sleep and see how it went the next day. ||The next day, we left the hotel and spent the day with family. When we came back to the room late that night, the smell had intensified and was overpowering. Then we discovered that the carpet next to the bed was soaking wet from a leak from the AC unit under the window. I again reported the issue and requeste

Room was just okay. AC wasn’t working and finally got them to switch rooms after 2 days. Drain in shower was uncovered with sharp middle which was reported but never addressed. Certainly not our favorite place.

Starting from the top with the general manager, you need to provide more food for breakfast. So people can eat at least something. If the hallway carpets need to be cleaned and I did not like being badgered about what my service dog provided for me.

We like the rooms at a Home2suites while traveling with children. This particular hotel was more accommodating to long term/ working customer residents on the hotel. I would not recommend this hotel for a family gathering or long weekend. The location is great next to Walmart etc. Hotel front desk and manager Adriana/ Cameron have the worst hospitality. There were a lot of hotel staff, but our room was never addressed. My sister’s blinds fell down. No one addressed. Water pressure was weak. Also, there was no lobby congregating, mind you we had about 15 rooms that weekend. This hotel does not accommodate short term visitors. I will not make my next stay at this home2suites in Summerville, and I would be hesitant on my future Hilton stays.

We were there during the Christmas weekend, so they were short-staffed. That being said, I will assume the issue with our room not getting cleaned during the 3 days we were there is not the norm. The good: The room was great. We had the double queen studio. They provide everything you need in a kitchen. The room was clean and very dark with the shade down. Comfortable beds and pillows. Shannon was awesome. I've stayed in a lot of places, but she managed to stand out and made our stay comfortable. She was super nice to my children. There is no shortage of restaurants, gas stations, and groceries within walking distance. Decent area. The bad: The pool was cloudy. Breakfast was the same on all 3 days. Their system blocks you from using a Fire Stick, which is lame. It's 2026. This needs to
