Home2 Suites by Hilton Alamogordo White Sands

This hotel was great! Huge, clean rooms. Gluten free options for breakfast!!! (My daughter with Celiac couldn’t believe they had individually packaged GF bagels!!) provided sleds for WSNP. Nice outdoor pool too! Staff was friendly - I hate hotels but I would return to this one in a second!

EXTREMELY disappointed with Home 2 Suites in Alamogordo, NM. We had an agreement for 16 rooms for 2 nights to be paid by one company credit card. Arrived at 5:15 pm and NO keys were even made yet. We are a group of senior travelers and it had been a long day, we were tired and then the hotel staff adds to our grief by announcing that everyone needs to show their ID individually to get their room keys. They did have two clerks working on our checkin and then decided we didn’t need to all show our id’s so credit to them there….but the checkin was cumbersome, slow and frustrating. One couple went to their room to discover other guests already in their room. What the heck????|Frustration continued when I requested a master rooming list as the group leader and was told “Well you should know you

Positive: It was clean. Negative: Apparent homeless people resting/sleeping/ in the fitness room, not exercising or using any equipment. I did not use the fitness center because the possibility of a panhandling situation seemed elevated.

I liked this location and my family was comfortable here. The hotel is slightly outside of Alamogordo in a safer location. The rooms are big enough for 2 large dogs and two adults to feel like they have adequate space. The beds were a bit hard but the pillows were nice and the air con worked great. Our rooms were clean and pleasantly decorated. There is a lot of space and shelving to put things in the rooms. Staff took time to talk to our pups, pet them, chat with us, and offer us sand sleds which were so much fun to ride at White Sands. We liked the porch and had no problem as 420 friendly guests sitting on the patio enjoying our day. Another flawless 5 star experience with hilton. I want to give a big shout out to Kathryn K, and her manager Sara H. I arrived late at night to check in, our original room got oversold. These 2 ladies upgraded me to a bigger room, with a kitchen. From a studio to a suite. They helped me with my special parking requests, and they went above and beyond to make sure this stay was exceptional. I hope hilton values these workers, because I sure do! Thanks again to both of you. As for the property itself. Its located in a nicer part of town. The rooms, lobby, pool area, and gym. Are all very clean and extremely inviting. Very happy we booked here. Probably the best hotel in almagordo.
