We arrived late on a Thursday evening to our campsite. Camp host Christopher quickly came over to welcome us, provide us the shower code, give us a run down of beach access and let us know where he was at. The spaces are large and besides the multiple trains passing by in the night, it was very quiet amongst the campers that night. The bathrooms/showers while are new, desperately need a broom or hose 9n the outside and very very over run with cobwebs, dust and little bug nests all over the doors and ceiling which was intimidating to our kids and a tall spouse who had to duck under webs. I took a broom to them to improve the situation but they could use some additional attention. Inside as well had lots and lots of bugs in varying states of animation and decomposition all over the ceiling
Great spot. My girl felt safe here, and that's unusual as she’s always paranoid when we go camping. Everything was clean, views were great, quiet. This is our new favorite spot.
The best thing about this campground is not its natural beauty, although the scenery is STUNNINGLY beautiful. Sure, the ball field and playground could use updates, but the bathroom and showers were newer and most importantly clean. No, what makes this campground great is that it has clearly been well maintained by people who really care about it. The campsite hosts were very friendly and helpful, but also very protective of the park and us campers. This campground is a precious gem, and if you're lucky enough to stay there, please take care of it too.
We got married here on 9/23 and it was wonderful! The camp hosts were super nice. Just an absolutely gorgeous setting and close to Stevenson so restaurants etc easy to access. Definitely not a quiet nights’ sleep with the trains but we knew what we were in for and for the purpose of a stunning venue and a place for people to sleep after without driving, totally worth it. All of our guests loved the venue, and those who camped loved that too- Even despite the trains we plan to come back in the future!
I was hesitant about this place after reading some of the old reviews but boy, how things have changed. It is a lovely park with baseball fields and a campground that can accommodate tents and RVs. The campground is well maintained, situated right by the Columbia River great for fishing and well sheltered by the trees. Also it doesn’t get overcrowded because only six people are allowed in each site. That keeps groups down to a manageable size. Porta potties and trash cans make it easy to keep the place clean. You can hear the train horns regularly. Just wear ear plugs if the noise bothers you. Will definitely come back. They accept cash only. No checks, debit or credit cards.
