Holiday Inn Melbourne-Viera Conference Ctr by IHG

I was thoroughly disappointed with this hotel. From the moment I walked in, it felt like I had stepped into a time capsule that got stuck somewhere around 1986. The smell hit first, a strong, funky odor that lived both in the hallways and the room itself. Unfortunately, it never went away. The decor was beyond dated. The elevator had wood paneling that looked like it belonged in an old station wagon, not a hotel. The room wasn’t much better. Furniture was flipped over, drawers were hanging halfway out like they were trying to escape, and the AC unit had a filter dangling out as if it had finally given up. Called to make a reservation. Customer service wouldn't match Priceline's price online. No biggie, just booked through Priceline. While on the phone with hotel reservations, we were told hotel has a $40 pet fee. Got to the hotel and was hit with $100 pet fee. Too late to cancel Priceline because there was no refunds. Had I known the cost of the pets would almost double my cost of the stay I would have picked a different location. BUYER BEWARE!!!

F... Coming from the best IHG stay at the Crowne Plaza Oceanfront to this dump was a stark slap in the face. First, while checking in, the associate mentioned that though I booked a king room, they didnt have any king rooms, so she started looking for upgrades, which were a little hard to find as the 2 elevators hadnt been working since before Christmas. Thankfully, she did find an upgrade on the first floor (room 100), as I was pretty certain that I couldn't haul 300 lbs worth of luggage up 4 flights of stairs. When we wheeled our luggage into the room, I tried logging onto the wifi, as I work remotely, and needed to verify the stability since we were staying 8 nights. 20 minutes later, the portal on the phone popped up, but the speed was dog slow. This hotel is a little dated but rooms are clean with comfy beds, just wish there was better lighting in the rooms and an exhaust fan in the bathroom. The Housekeeping Manager Elaine was amazing and very helpful and Jackie in the breakfast area was a joy and very friendly 😀 The bar tender that was working Monday night was the Best even though she only bartends once a week (she should be here all the time) the bartender that worked Tuesday night was not near as friendly and accommodating but we still had a nice time.
