This was an excellent location for our family gathering. The availability of public transportation and the hotel's local shuttle was great. All the front desk staff that we work with before and during our stay were welcoming and helpful. In fact, all the staff we encountered were great. The breakfast offering and space was such an important part of our stay. With family members from 90+ years to infants, and everything in between, a place to gather and eat together in the morning was critical --thank you for providing that space and a great variety of food for all different needs. All the staff that provided for the breakfast were great --and Jose became a family favorite!

This is a very rundown hotel. The rooms were small and outdated. The refrigerator was missing a leg, it did not cool properly and the freezer was bipolar. The water pressure was weak and it took almost 10 min to get any hot water. When we got in the room it was out of soap so we called to get a new bottle and a roll away bed since the beds were super small. The lady we talked to was rude and acted like she had to go out of her way to find someone to bring the items. Needless to say we didn’t get either that night and we never got the roll away. Parking was so bad that I was surprised our suv didn’t get hit. The parking garage was super small and very low, so much that the top of the suv almost hit the roof. They charged $30 a night for the crappy parking. They claimed that there wa

I used to avoid Holiday Inn because of a bad experience I had 15 years ago in Dubai. Since then, I never stayed at a Holiday Inn during my business trips. This time, I traveled to the USA for business and needed to stay in downtown Houston for my meetings. I couldn’t find any available hotels from Feb 9 to Feb 15, and the only option left was Holiday Inn. Honestly, I was not happy about it at first. But I’m really glad I gave it a chance—it completely changed my mind. The room was spacious and very comfortable, and it had everything I needed. The staff were welcoming, and what really impressed me was the duty manager. My flight was late at night, so I asked for a late checkout. The front desk said they could only extend it by 3 hours, while I needed 6 hours, so I had to book an extra night

We had a fine enough experience here (and, indeed, the Metro rail nearby was nice), but I felt like there were plenty of indications that this hotel is on the decline.||1. Only one of the two elevators was working. We saw no indications (we stayed for three days) that the other was being worked upon to bring it back into operation.||2. The hotel restaurant was closed and, again, showed no signs of being renovated to reopen.||3. One night someone either spilled a large drink in the one elevator or... something worse. It was not cleaned up immediately and, in fact, next morning there was still visible evidence that something had happened. I am wondering if, despite being a 16-story hotel, the evening staff is just two people, one front desk guy and one shuttle operator. No official cleaning

The location is convenient for exploring Downtown Houston and the shuttle service made things even easier. Rooms were well-maintained and housekeeping did a great job. The staff were courteous and went out of their way to be helpful. Parking was the one thing that could use some improvement because of the signage in the garage is a bit confusing.
