Holiday Inn Express & Suites VA Beach Oceanfront by IHG

The accommodations are lovely & room was large & very comfortable. I appreciate cleanliness & comfort. The bed actually had fitted sheets & the pillow cases were embroidered with their firmness level (soft, firm, etc.) Breakfast was the best I’ve ever experienced in quality & variety. The kitchen staff replenished everything quickly & cleaned up after spills, etc . I loved hearing the sound of the ocean - very relaxing!

Great location to the beach & restaurants. Was a little loud with lots of kids staying there and running around. Room was clean & beds comfy. Especially liked having a fridge & microwave. Only negative was how long it took the sink water to get warm/hot in the mornings. Had to let it run quite a long time before it was warm. Other than that, the staff was very nice & friendly. Would consider staying there again.

We stayed here for a long weekend with our granddaughter. The location was good, right on the Va Beach Oceanfront. We chose this hotel because of our good experience with other HIE hotels in the past. Our expectation was HIE’s usual brand consistency in their hotels. We booked a king suite on the 9th floor. The room was nice and spacious. There is a bedroom with a king bed and TV. Separate living room with foldout couch that our granddaughter slept on. ||Our first issue was a lack of hot water throughout our stay. We noticed no hot water the first evening when getting ready for bed, and reported it first thing in the morning. We were told that they were aware of issues and working on it. Stayed there with my 2 boys for a soccer tournament and I'm glad I choose this hotel. The first impression at the reception was great as the guest service rep consistently gave excellent customer service. The room was clean and well stocked. The view was excellent. It was my kids first time at a beach so they were excited. We actually went for a walk after their games and created memories there. I usually like to leave my room as clean as possible but due to time constraints and game time, I couldn't do what I usually do but when we came back, the room was back to the excellent state it was when we first checked in! As embarrassed as I was, I was very impressed. Breakfast choices were also great, we enjoyed it. The staff was consistently checking and refilling any empty food.

Hotel staff is very kind and super quick to bring anything extra that you need in your room. We asked for extra towels and someone was to our room less than 5 minutes later. We stayed on the 7th floor and had beautiful views - enjoying the dolphins every morning and early evening. The room was okay. We prefer to stay at Holiday Inn Express when we travel due to the phenomenal experiences we have always had. But this hotel was underwhelming when it comes to cleanliness and upkeep. When I say this, I want to preface by saying that there were NOT any bugs of any kind. However, it didn’t appear that there hadn’t been any true cleaning done in the room.
