Holiday Inn Express & Suites Mason City by IHG

My mother in law was in a hospital nearby. My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 9 nights so we can visit my mother in law while she was in the hospital. The hotel is centrally located to many restaurants and stores. All of the hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is very clean. We enjoyed their free breakfast daily as well. Our stay was wonderful!

Travel for business and this location works for me. Hotel meets my needs and was recently renovated. Room clean, fairly quiet and comfortable. Slept well. Breakfast has the normal Holiday Inn offerings- coffee a little strong and bitter for me but can’t please everyone. Love the to go bag as traveling for work is never fun and appreciate that I can have a quick snack on the road. Also enjoy the workout room! With weights and working cardio machines!

- room was very clean, beautiful and spacious, much better than another Holiday Inn I was at. However I don’t know what softener they used or what room spray they used but it’s extremely unpleasant. A very strong, chemically sweet kind of smell, looks like they trying to mask the smoke smell or something else in the room. I end up couldn’t sleep because the smell gave me bad headache. Please change whatever you used, it’s too strong! - breakfast was hot and delicious, I especially love the egg white omelette. - front desk was not the nicest but very polite and professional. - housekeeper is horrible, banging loudly when cleaning room (I can hear her clearly from my room, can’t rest). It sounds like an angry ghost just let go of her frustration, purposely hit things repeatedly and throw thi

5/5 stars!! The newly remodeled rooms are modern, gorgeous, and cool. Our room felt very spacious, the beds were very comfortable, and my kids loved it. The TV was huge, definitely not one of those 20-inch TVs that most hotels have. Free breakfast as well - yup. Overall, this room was a great value and our family had a great time. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Check in was fast and easy, and the rooms are very nice. The BEST breakfast I’ve seen offered, and I stay in, on average 15-30 hotels a year. Crystal and her staff are super nice, and care about their customers experience. Any time I’m near Mason City, this will be my choice of hotel.
