Holiday Inn Express & Suites Mansfield by IHG

Booked online a suite with 2 rooms for my family of 5. It had a queen, sofa couch, and king bed. TV in both rooms, mini fridge, microwave and chaise with adjustable table. The shower had limited hot water, it was luke warm and then hot for maybe a minute. The toilet seat didn't stay up so for males you either had to hold the seat up or pee sitting. If you like sleeping in the dark too bad, the TV's have lights and so does the light switch for desk lamp, so you have 2 night lights. Breakfast is good, first morning they had cheese omelets, scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, bacon, biscuits, sausage gravy, pancakes, plenty of bread choices, oatmeal with add ons, fruit, yogurt, milk, oj and apple juice. There was a group of us staying here for one night and our experience was a positive one! All the staff we encountered was kind and attentive from when we checked in, to breakfast, and checking out. We really appreciated the mini fridge and microwave. The beds were comfortable; we've stayed at places where the bed was too hard. I would have liked the bed to be just a tad softer, but these were very doable. Breakfast had a variety of options for all from cold to hot foods.

We stayed from December 23rd to December 25th. We picked this hotel because of the inside pool and whirlpool! The location is great because you are surrounded by everything, shopping, restaurants and right on the highway with a nice view. The service was great, the hotel appeared to be pretty clean, and the free Continental Breakfast was well stocked! As far as the pool, it was a nice size and you could smell the chlorine down the hall. However, the watery looked murky. I went ahead and got in the whirlpool but I had to get out between the strong chlorine fumes and the heat I got dizzy! This is an older hotel and for the most part it was good but there appeared to have been some water damage to the bathroom door in one of our rooms and water damage to the ceiling in our other room. The hotel is immaculately maintained. Housekeeping staff was great, breakfast was wonderful (especially the cinnamon rolls), and the pool is cool. My only complaint is that the traffic noise coming off 287 is entirely unmitigated. My room was on the southeast corner of the hotel, and the traffic noise was distinct and constant. Everything within the hotel's control is great. If something can be done to soundproof rooms on the hotel's eastern side, this place would be superb.
