Holiday Inn Express & Suites Grenada by IHG

I will never stay at Holiday Inn Express in Grenada, MS. it is a dump not a hotel. Electrical Outlets not working. towels were old and one had couple of holes in it. No amenities. Kleenex box was left empty and not replaced. No breakfast, all dishes were empty at 7:00 am. paints were peeling off. An absolute dump.

We stopped in while traveling through and I just have to say that the customer service we had was top tier. The manager, Basil, was phenomenal. He helped up get the luggage cart in after we got our things on it (we were traveling with a baby so we had a lot of stuff.) He was extremely nice and made sure we had everything we needed. I think the hotel just got taken over and redone so there was no fridge in the room we stayed in but he offered to let us use the kitchen fridge for whatever we needed. We travel through about once a year and will be staying again. The room was very clean, smelled good and the bed was very comfortable.

Ok well first room I stayed in was on 3rd floor and it was a ADA room where the shower curtain was falling off and the shower head wasn't attached to anything just wrapped around a bar so they moved me to a room on the 2nd floor it also a ADA room and well this time shower head is attached to pole but freely falls and doesnt stay up so you can wash off, soap rack is falling off and well room was never cleaned daily or towels ect changed. Hard to believe they charge what they do for 💩 rooms! Management doesn't care!

The manager, Basil, was clearly trained at a very high quality hospitality school. He was friendly, polished, eloquent and really took care of us. The rooms are not five star (nor should they be), but they were clean and comfortable. Nothing malfunctioned. The complimentary breakfast was hot and delicious.|One quirky thing was the text I got before check-out which we did not mind at all. It likely makes the rooms quicker and less expensive. Here it is:||"Good Morning! This is just a friendly reminder to please put all dirty towels and/or sheets outside the room for our housekeeping to be coming around to pick up soon, and for attendants to be able to service your room in a timely manner. This has become a favorite oasis after a long drive with yet another day's travel to go. The rooms are clean, roomy, and comfortable. The staff upon check-in was very friendly, efficient, and professional. The bed was quite comfortable and welcoming after a long day's drive. Breakfast the following morning had a nice variety and despite a resupply issue effecting the scrambled eggs, the manager and staff made it work seamlessly! I would have never known there was an issue, except the manager asked my party specifically if all was to our liking. Further conversation revealed the food truck was late on arrival despite a requisition placed well in advance. The staff makes it work no matter what the obstacle with customer service as their guide. Kudos!
