Holiday Inn Express & Suites Clifton Park by IHG

This hotel was a really cool place. The room was awesome, it has a nice little pool (but no hot tub), the breakfast was really good, the staff even helped my kids during breakfast. Super nice place. It's situated on some weird backroad, but it's pretty close to a major thoroughfare. On the bright side, across the parking lot is a bar that serves some really good burgers. However, it's covered in bright lights and doesn't close until 430 am, so shut your curtains. All told it was a good experience.

Was very disappointed in our three day stay at this hotel. To start they tried to put us in a room that had wet carpet being dried by a fan and the filthy cover off the air conditioner. We had to press to get a different room because they were "sold out". Why release a room that isn't ready? Quality and cleanliness very poor in rooms and hallways. Ice machines didn't work and were running, why not just turn them off? Pool was closed the first couple of days. We never unpacked because the room felt so dirty. Mold in showers. The best was their rates...$192, $247, and $435 for Friday night!!! Nice way to rip people off during race season. My wife and I stayed here for two nights while we attended a family funeral. I wish we were allowed to award 1/2 stars as I would have rated 4.5, but unfortunately we can't. The hotel was clean and up-to-date. The bed was comfortable. The free breakfasts were very good and I was surprised the cheese omelettes were fresh and not the frozen variety.|Those are the good points. Where we had a problem was with housekeeping. After spending a very long day saying good-bye to our loved one, we came back to our room only to find the bed was not made and no fresh towels provided. I know some hotels advise to put the used towels in the hall if you want replacements, but I saw nothing indicating we should have done that. I have stayed here at least once a month on business trips for about a year now. Its always clean and well maintained. The staff is great. Even the breakfast is well cooked and stocked every morning. Its great having Peddler's Bar right next store as well to pickup some easy takeout for dinner. I'll keep coming back.

The hotel is not too bad, but what made our stay a bit uncomfortable was that we walked into a room with a bug on one of the beds (it looked like a bedbug). We immediately left and requested for a new room, which was given to us with no hurdle. A soft renovation would be welcomed to their rooms as the carpet looks a bit dated and old. Aside from that, we had a lovely stay. The breakfast is decent.
