Holiday Inn Express & Suites Childress by IHG

Great experience at the Holiday Inn Express in Childress TX. We were greeted with a big friendly smile and our room has comfortable beds for a one night stay. It's funky to get to through the Walmart parking lot but back from the highway for a quiet night. Beware of the railroad tracks behind the hotel. Tonight there are no trains running so it is quiet but it *might* be noisy when trains pass through town.

I'm giving this hotel a five star review because I had the best night's sleep! Dark and quiet rooms. Bee was comfortable and linens etc good. For a two star hotel this totally delivers. Great freshly ground Costa coffee too!

Positive: Room was clean, I’m very picky when it comes to clean. Mattress cover needed to be washed but the sheets and covers were clean, I checked. Best breakfast, biscuits and gravy, sausage, fresh pancake machine, fruit, juices, coffee and more. Friendly staff Negative: The entrance was a little hard to find. Had to go through Walmart parking lot to get to it.

The hotel is a little run down. Breakfast is terrible. They literally put out rotten fruit. My room never gets actually cleaned. All they do is remake the bed. A trash truck shows up everyday at 530 am and wakes me up. Worst holiday inn I’ve ever stayed at

If you’re looking for an accessible room I would suggest you call to discuss your needs prior to booking. My husband and I requested an accessible room with no other requests. When we opened the door and went inside we were impressed by how large the room was. It would have been better if most of the room wasn’t carpeted, but it was doable. Just takes a lot more strength to roll wheelchair across carpet. Then looking at the bed, it’s a good bit higher than a wheelchair so it would be challenging to transfer from wheelchair to the bed. Then the bathroom. While it’s a nice sized bathroom, you can’t get your wheelchair in and close the door so you have no privacy. The toilet was not ADA height and the grab bars were useless. I could get on the toilet by myself but could not get off the toile
