Hampton Inn & Suites Childress

All of the staff was very helpful and friendly. The rooms are small, but they're cozy and comfortable. Plenty of room for staying over a night. The complimentary breakfast was top-notch. The sausage, biscuits, potatoes, omelets and waffles were all great. The coffee bar located right outside the elevator is wonderful.

The staff were incredibly rude and dismissive - both the clerk at check-in as well as at breakfast. On check-in, the clerk looked at my husband like he was an idiot for trying to clarify the statement “for the double queen it’s 315” when husbands response was “I thought the room was already prepaid - could you check the booking again?”. The clerk meant the room number. It was after 10pm and we’d been on the road since 9am. At breakfast, when asking about milk, the response was a huff and an impatient “right there” with a wave of her hand. The location is convenient for those passing through but I’d look elsewhere if you expect basic human kindness. Rooms were clean and did the job. We didn’t stick around for breakfast besides getting a coffee.

Handicapped shower gets water everywhere on bathroom floor. Towelhook broke, charged way to many points for what the room was worth, pool not working. Room was clean and breakfast was good.

Positive: I’m a truck driver, so it was right next door to a pilot truckstop which made it convenient for me to get and back from my truck easily Negative: Their indoor swimming pool was out of service because of water shortage at the moment the breakfast was not all that great. It was like your basic whatever the room layout was kind of awkward.

Great location close to the highway, restaurant, fuel, etc. but away from the noise. Friendly informative check-in. Big comfortable room. Bed a little soft. Good coffee. Perfect for passing thru.
