Holiday Inn Express & Suites Baton Rouge East by IHG

I am a IHG member and I usually do not do reviews on my travel. Because I travel so much it felt like a job so I stop doing them about 6 years ago. But I have to say a special thank you to Charika at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Baton Rouge East. She had the absolute best customer service and service. She made breakfast like it came from my own kitchen. Usually when a hotel has free breakfast it is not the best. This young lady made the best turkey sausage and biscuits. If there was some cheese my husband said she would have been able to give red lobster a run for its money. Thank you Charika for actually caring about the people you cook for. Your breakfast area was clean and look like you actually cared about your hotel guest. Thank and I tea appreciate your service and time.Tha

Positive: The staff was polite but this did not make up for the horrible experience, Negative: The room had 2 queen beds one of which was covered in bugs. I have photos. I notified the front desk and was told that they were booked up so I had to stay in the room with the bugs. I continued to have biting bugs in my room for 3 days.

We always stay at Holiday Inn Express and this one didn't disappoint us. Great bed (which is our top reason we stay at HIE). Friendly staff, clean, good breakfast, affordable.

We stayed here on 02-13-26. When we got into the room it was clean. I walked in front of the ac unit and the carpet was soaked about a foot in front of the unit. We set the thermostat to 67 that night and the unit would only kick on for a little while then not come back on for a long time and it was nowhere near 67 degrees in the room. We tried to turn the fan to the ac unit on and nothing happened. The next morning we woke up and the carpet was even more saturated in front of the unit. The toilet also kept getting hung up so the toilet ran for half the night. The vent in the bathroom didn’t work either. Was just very unsatisfied with our stay!

The Best Breakfast I’ve had in a Hotel. It was very hot and and fresh and neatly arranged. The manager was so helpful and pleasant. The rooms are wonderful and clean. Staff was excellent. We will return soon.
