Holiday Inn Express South Haven by IHG

Room was clean. Front desk service was pleasant. We stayed NYE and the pool was closed the next morning for maintenance. It was myself and 3 children. This was a really poor choice of day and time due to the number of families staying for the holiday. Why would you close a pool on a holiday? One family had an accident at the pool and asked me if I had any bandaids. The front desk did not have any. I opened the first aid kit in the pool and there were two empty boxes sitting in it- and you guessed it, no bandaids. We came down for breakfast at 9am (ended at 9:30am) and the majority of the food was gone. Nothing was refilled the entire time we were there and people ended up just leaving when there was no food left. We stay at hotels across the country quite frequently and have never had thi

This is a fairly decent property for this level of hotel. Here during holidays so it is very quiet with very few lodgers. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are clean and quiet. Breakfast is the usual complimentary hotel breakfast, coffee is available 24/7. We did not take advantage of the pool, nor did we use the fitness center (treadmill, free weights, stationary bike, elliptical). Surprisingly we returned after our first day out and about to fresh towels. They didn't make the bed - which was fine with us.

This stay was a one night, last minute walk-in on our way home from the Holland Mi tulip festival but was such a pleasure that I want to give it a great review as I always check current reviews before I book a place. Lovely front desk team, spotless common areas and rooms - our room was newly remodeled and beautiful. Plus the breakfast was a real breakfast|including really good eggs, pancakes, sausage, bacon, fruit, pastries, yogurt and the standard fare. We did not use it but checked out the pool which was very warm and looks great for all ages with walk-in steps. A great stay!

Wonderful hotel with excellent breakfast and coffee. The location is ideal for families exploring the area and rock hunting. Comfortable, welcoming, and perfectly situated — highly recommend!

We stayed at this location for our first trip to Michigan. We were able to take day trips to Holland, Sagatauk, and Grand Haven which were all less than an hour away. Very convenient to downtown South Haven, too, just about a 5 minute drive. The area seemed safe and right off the expressway. The hotel itself looked new, very clean and bright as we walked in. The common areas and room itself smelled very fresh. The hotel staff was friendly, especially at the front desk and the person in charge of the breakfast eating area. Our only complaint is that the walls are thin, and we had neighbors that were up very late, talking, laughing and closing doors which made for a rough night’s sleep. This was in no way the fault of the hotel.
