Holiday Inn Express Savannah-Historic District by IHG

Savannah is a beautiful place to begin with, and this hotel fits right in. The Holiday Inn Express Savannah Historic District is set in a beautiful building and is perfectly located for exploring the city. The lobby, breakfast area, lounge, and conference spaces are all clean, well-kept, and inviting. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. During the day, there’s even a concierge available to help plan your itinerary if you’re in town for fun, which is a great touch. The location is hard to beat — within easy walking distance to scenic views, great restaurants, watering holes, and more candy shops than you can count. My room was comfortable and clean, with everything you need: TV, small fridge, microwave, Keurig, iron and board, blow dryer, toiletries, standard outlets

Rooms at this establishment are quite expensive. Their stated housekeeping policy is rooms will be serviced EVERY OTHER DAY. We stayed for four days and it was frustrating that our room was never attended to. Our trash was overflowing and we ran out of towels. On the third day I made it a point to tell the front desk that we needed our room cleaned that day- they assured me it would happen. It did not. After a long day of sightseeing we came back to an unattended room so I called the front desk. They sent someone up who tried handing me towels at the door. When it was explained that the old towels needed to be removed and the trash taken as well they then came in. When asked if they would also do the bed - they left the room and didn’t return 😂 Also the satellite tv reception is spotty. Ve

Pros: Close to the River St. District (directly across Bay St. through Emmett Park) . Hop-On tour stop directly beside the hotel by Trinity Church. Public Self Parking deck right beside hotel. Property has pricey valet parking which we had to use the first two nights because the deck was full on a busy weekend, but the last two nights we self parked next door and it was very convenient and less expensive. Nice rooftop pool deck -- we didn't swim but enjoyed the view of the river. Room was basic but completely adequate, clean and plenty of convenient charging ports for devices. Satisfied. Our room was also quiet even though it was near all the downtown action. Positive: The hotel was nothing short of amazing. Big parking lot, hotel was located in the perfect location 2 blocks in any direction was lots of activities but the area of the hotel was slow and quiet. Negative: ""

Great location, pleasant staff. Resort did look run down and poorly maintained. Paper on the floor and box of pizza not removed over 24hr window. A vacuum left in the middle of the hall overnight created a unavoidable trip hazard, taped elevator panel gave a sense of dismay and lack of care. Great view from 9th floor. Greatly recommend higher floors. Covered parking for three days $15 literally next door, does not get better. Breakfast was all you can eat with a wide selection. Rooms were comfortable, except for the ocasional cargo ship. Yes rooms can use more light!! The Trolley stop right in front of the hotel!!
