Holiday Inn Express San Antonio-Airport by IHG

Within the span of one month, I had the opportunity to stay at three different Holiday Inn hotels, which gives me a good basis for comparison. On the positive side, the breakfast is very complete and definitely worth the price difference since it is already included. I would especially like to highlight the quality of the coffee and the kindness of the staff — even about five minutes before closing, they kindly let you know so you can take whatever you still need. The hotel also appears to have been recently renovated, as the furniture is in good condition and not worn out. The location is another strong point, being very close to the airport and also to North Star Mall. I have stayed here countless times over the past year at least once per month. Every single staff member I have encountered has been amazing. I know many of their names and they know and remember mine. Breakfast here is incredible. There are many choices including a fun automated pancake maker. Although I am typically working, with no time to enjoy the outdoor pool, I see it and it is always sparkling blue water and very clean. During a few of my stays school teams (once a debate team and another time a swim team) were staying at the hotel. The staff very strategically placed their rooms so other guests weren’t disrupted. I booked two adjoining rooms so that our kids and grandkids could go back and forth, which was extremely helpful. The rooms were very clean, and the breakfast was great. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and ensure we had an enjoyable stay. To our surprise there was even a free shuttle available to take us to a local restaurant. The proximity to the airport was very helpful, as our flight left at 6am and we were traveling with a two year old and ten month old. We travel to San Antonio every year, and will definitely be staying at this hotel from now on. My only regret is that we didn't find it sooner!

I have had good success with Holiday Inn Express hotels recently, and this location was not an exception. Easy and welcoming check-in, help with directions and suggestions for gas, dinner, etc. ||Hotel is being worked on to update rooms and we stayed in one. Nice upgrade, comfortable bed, convenient furniture set up, and lighting and chargers/electrical outlets were strategically located.||Parking garage is attached to the hotel, with a security gate for access, so safe and convenient.||Breakfast was the traditional HIE style, with several quality choices of hot food and pancakes, etc, well presented with a large eating/seated area. ||Booked the HIE for its convenient location near the airport for a morning departure home. From the time we checked in with Aylin and throughout our entire stay we experienced the utmost in hospitality from the entire staff here. Rooms are exceptionally clean, bed very comfortable and breakfast hit the spot. The hotel’s shuttle was a wonderful way to explore the mile radius around the hotel including restaurants, North Star Mall (5 stars) and of course the airport. I’ll never stay anyplace else in San Antonio again!
