Holiday Inn Express Pendleton by IHG

We’ve been staying here for years and each time have been impressed at how thorough and thoughtful Crystal is on the front desk. She’s the GM here and it’s very much a perfectly-run establishment. Breakfast is outstanding: egg pockets (vegetarian, too), biscuits, breads/bagels, apples/bananas, yogurts, just about everything you could want at dawn. And there is coffee in the lobby starting at 4 a.m. Parking galore and it’s well-lighted and secure. We were fortunate enough to have the 2-Queen Suite with Additional Living Space, which makes for a lavish stay. The bathtub and wet-bar make it really special, as do the screened windows that open for a breeze and a magnificent view of the surrounding landscape. The room was clean and comfortable. The cinnamon buns were delicious and tasted homemade. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. We arrived during a winter storm warning and the front desk helped us in the morning to determine if the roads were open. Overall a very pleasant experience. Will definitely choose this hotel again!

The friendliness and warmth of the staff is unmatched. Truly one of the best staff at a hotel that I have met. Great breakfast and clean rooms as well. The only reason I put 4 stars is that the fitness center has a ton of boxes stacked from floor to ceiling and felt more like a storage room. The treadmill was not functioning properly and the only other machines in the room were an elliptical and a bike. As long as you are not planning a workout, this hotel is perfect.

The staff and service are EXCELLENT. The condition, however, is not what I expect for $150 a night and an HIE. I understand the hotel is undergoing renovations but how did IHG let a hotel operator get away with this until this point? I've worked for HIE properties before and we had our flag threatened for far less. Examples - paint peeling everywhere, a metal thing on the wall that went to who knows what, the beds were creaky and horrible, one bed was off the box, the bathroom counter had a huge gap with some sort of yellowed silicone coming out of it where they tried to patch it, mold in the bathroom, the fridge didn't work well and our milk ruined - I could go on.

Comfy, clean room. Good breakfast... better than some other Holiday Inns. Desk clerk gave us an EXCELLENT suggestion for dinner, & also gave us a nice, convenient view room. She was very helpful. Would stay here again.
