Holiday Inn Express McCook by IHG

Very friendly and efficient staff upon check in. Room had nice decor, comfortable bed and pillows, lots of hooks and a shower ( no tub) that had great water pressure. The room itself was clean but along the shower ledge there was dust and hair and in the shower we had 2 conditioners and no shampoo. I did leave a note for housekeeping. Since we were only there for less than a day I did not call front desk. Everything else was good. They had a nice breakfast area and great sausage ( cooked crisp) and good coffee.

The cleanliness of the floor in the room was not very good. Found food trash on carpet under desk and an empty candy rapper on the floor under the front edge of the couch. Otherwise, the cleanliness was as would be expected. Coffee bean coffee machines in the lobby were great! The canister of coffee that was set out during breakfast did not seem to be as good as what was available in the machines. The breakfast foods would have been great if properly held. The pancakes would stick to the serving tray and were kind of crunchy from being so old. The breakfast potatoes were very dry. The biscuits and gravy was good.

There’s literally one entrance through the main lobby, sort of inconvenient. Check in took a decade, more training needs to be implemented here I feel. Then I was charged an additional 8 dollars for beverages I never purchased. The manager never attempted to make this right, even after showing proof of the 8 charge on my credit card.

Positive: "" Negative: I am an IHG MEMBER and they didn’t add my rewards. Also asked for a late check out said no because the maids were done at noon. They took my stuff out of my room really obtrusive

On the top of my 5 worst IHG hotels I have stayed at. Gross hotel. Elevator was so gross that should have given me the clue. Stayed twice and will never stay again. I drive two hours to another hotel because of this one.
