Holiday Inn Express Columbus Downtown, an IHG Hotel

I didnt get my room till 10 oclock at night when i was supposed to have it at 3:30, then my parents TV didnt work, we were supposed to be checking out of our rooms at 11 and it is 10:26 and i an locked out if my room, because none of my keys work, and with all of my belongings in the room, the only good thing about this hotel was the breakfast. Not to mention the one person at the front made it so difficult. And also the elevator sucks.

Had to cancel the day of check-in, but before 3PM. I spoke with the desk and he said he would call me back after speaking to the manager. He called back and said they would not refund my money. I know this location sells out easily and I mentioned to him that my room would be picked up by someone else that night. I also mentioned that I would cancel any future business with Holiday Inn Express (I've been a member for years) and asked if that was worth one night refund. He said yes and told me there was nothing he could do. So, that's that. Courtyard by Marriott and Hyatt are better options anyways.

A fine place to stay. No frills. Clean with some wear and tear, which was fine. I’m big about odor. My room was odor-free with a comfy bed and pillows. Parking was nice to have on site. I could walk to the venue where my event was.

This hotel served its intended basic purpose - a placed to stay for one night in Columbus. Personally, this is the lowest level of hotel I would stay it. The room appeared clean, although throughout the entire hotel, room and lobby... the smell of cleaning chemicals was very strong. The room smelled like bleach, but did appear clean. There was a trash bag left outside our room for hours. The elevator was slow. The room was dated and carpet was worn. The bed was average - not terribly comfortable. Check-in was quick and easy. The location is great, right off the highway and in German Village - very, very cute neighborhood with lots of places nearby, walkable, on easy public transit (bus) to get downtown and to short north. I probably would not stay here again, but it was bearable for a nigh
