The hotel location is actually pretty good. It is close to plenty of food options and some shopping, although staying about five to eight blocks farther south puts you closer to the main shopping area and the more central part of downtown. The building is a historic hotel, which sounds interesting at first, but it also means the building is extremely old and you can definitely tell. The rooms are very small. Ours only had one nightstand. The TV was mounted on the wall with nothing underneath it. There was a desk, a small beverage center, and a bench. There were no coat racks or hooks anywhere on the walls. There was a closet with a tiny nightstand inside for drawers, but it was blocked by the one nightstand in the room so it was not very usable. The flooring is laminate wood, which made
Staff were very nice and hotel was very clean. I think the pictures make the rooms look bigger than they truly are- they do say it that rooms are small and cozy- it is truly SMALL AND COZY. Small that 2 people can barely walk at the same time. If you are clear on that you will have a fabulous stay- if you skip over that detail (like me) you may be confused. Aside from the small rooms they do offer a nice breakfast. The hotel is close to everything- trains, food, convenience stores and the casino. It is the perfect location for a visit to Chicago.
Positive: Location with River North, easy access to Mag Mile and Red Line/buses. Relatively affordable for the location too. Negative: Rooms were very cramped, Holiday Inn branding in the rooms was non-existent. Didn't resemble a typical Holiday Inn. Probably because the property used to be the historic Hotel Cass
This hotel is in an excellent central location and within easy walking distance of numerous bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and retail stores, making it very convenient for exploring the area without needing transportation. For those who enjoy walking, Navy Pier is also accessible on foot and is roughly a 3.5–4 mile round trip, which makes for a nice outing if you have the time. The rooms are not large by any means, but they are comfortable, cozy, and well-suited for travelers who plan to spend most of their time out enjoying the city. Everything feels functional and well maintained, which is really all you need for a city stay. Overall, the unbeatable central location is what truly sets this hotel apart and makes it a reliable go-to option for anyone looking to stay close to the action
I stayed here for 4 nights and overall it was pretty great. The location was great because it had a lot of things near it. Front desk was very nice and breakfast was included. You get what you pay for in the rooms but overall good hotel! will definitely stay here again.
