Holiday Inn Express Cape Coral-Fort Myers Area by IHG

Ricardo checked me in. He was helpful and kind. The rooms were dated but very clean. The beds were comfortable. All the staff was very pleasant and helpful. The pool was lovely. The breakfast was good. I would definitely come back. One thing I didn't like is the cigarette smoking by the staff right outside the pool area.

Clean, comfortable, convenient, and affordable hotel. My double queen bed room had a nice balcony, small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker with coffee/creamer. Excellent breakfast set up daily down in lobby breakfast room. Adequate parking to accommodate my truck with a boat in tow. Nice pool area although it backs a busy road has nice seating and tables with umbrellas. Enough to relax and take a dip in the heated pool. Restaurants, convenience store, bars, nightlife all surrounding the hotel within very short walking distance.

I really was so pleased with this hotel. It was incredibly clean and modern. The pillows were really comfy ( they were embroidered with firm or soft) so this made sleep easy. The breakfast was also very, very abundant with both hot and cold items. I was especially impressed with check in staff. Lots of great restaurants nearby as well. My only criticism, and this is a design problem, is that the hand soap in the bathroom was 2 feet on an opposing wall so lots of dripping across. awkward. Just a small suggestion to move those. This was a great stay and I would def go again

UPDATE: In response to the owner's response below - I tried to pay with the university credit card in response to what I was told the policy was. The staff did not send the credit card authorization form when they said they would, then told it me it wasn't needed, and then on the final day trying to resolve the issue took so long, which was frustrating after trying to get things in order the previous two days. I am not familiar with the law, just my experiences staying in hotels for work in Florida, which as I noted have been varied regarding this issue. But the staff was not familiar either. The whole issue took up an unnecessary amount of time. So my issue is not with the Florida law but the way the staff handled the situation. TLDR: Don't stay here if you need to use a tax exempt form.

Everything was perfect with this hotel. Staff was awesome. Super shout out to Mallory for all her help plus the room change. Breakfast was good. Location was perfect. Rooms were very nice. Great pool area. Very small issue, but it would be nice if there was more lighting over top of the microwave/ fridge area, and the closet.
