Holiday Inn Columbus Dwtn-Capitol Square by IHG

My stay itself was fine, but the customer service afterward has been extremely frustrating. I left an item in my room and have called four times over the past two weeks. Each time I was assured someone would contact me, and that has not happened. Being repeatedly told I would receive a call back and not hearing from anyone shows a lack of follow-through and accountability. This experience has left a negative impression, and I hope the hotel improves how it handles guest concerns after checkout.

Stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights for work. It’s in a good location with close proximity to the Statehouse and other government offices. I did really appreciate being able to check in early (around noon) and it was so nice to have on-site parking that wasn’t valet, especially in a downtown area—it made everything easier. My booking included a breakfast coupon and the restaurant breakfast was surprisingly good—you get to choose from a menu of about five options. I had the omelet with ham and veggies and it was really good. The server was very attentive and friendly. ||There were a few cons, though. Check-in was at 4 PM, but we had to wait about 45 minutes to an hour before getting our room. I get that it was a busy day, but you'd think they could have planned better, especially knowing how many reservations were coming in. We were also told they were short on towels—which honestly just seems wild. How does a hotel run out of basic things like that? I usually try to be understanding when stuff goes wrong, but whoever is answering the phones for the rooms could definitely be more helpful and professional. You're in a hospitality setting—just do better. On the bright side, the restaurant staff was great

The hotel was exceptionally clean and featured a friendly atmosphere, with a particularly noteworthy attached restaurant. Nevertheless, the air conditioning unit within our room was unfortunately not operational during our stay.

The room was not prepared beforehand. Bathrooms were not stocked with soap, shampoo or conditioners. When we called to get them, they asked us to go down and get them. This was my first time with a Holiday Inn and I was surprised that a hotel is asking it's guests to come down to get an essential item from reception instead of having housekeeping send it over. When I brought it up with the folks at reception, they were not apologetic, but rather were rude and dismissive. What kind of place are you guys running here? Horrible experience. Untrained staff.
