Historic Streetcar Inn — 1/5 stars The only positives were the location, and the property being gated. Check in was simple. Unfortunately, cleanliness was a serious issue. I understand the property is old and has historic charm, but age and charm are not excuses for poor hygiene. The room did not appear to be cleaned at all—it honestly felt like someone came in, changed the sheets, and then walked out. That’s it. The floors were so dirty that we had to wear shoes from the beginning and the toilet was not cleaned at all. There were actual particles still present, to the point that we had to ask staff for a cleaner so we could spray and clean it ourselves, which is completely unacceptable for a hotel stay. nside the Historic Street Car Inn, we found the room to be really spacious and clean. There’s a really large TV that came with cable TV as well. The bathroom is also spacious with good hot water supply. Air conditioning looked new and the bed was really comfortable as well. The only complain was that the fridge was not working that well. Otherwise, a lovely, spacious and clean room. As our room was at the first level, we had easy access to the coffee and ice machine as well. In the same area, you can get spare towels and shampoo/bath foam if you need to. There’s also an oven for warming up food... Positive: The hotel is adorable! Extremely clean and has everything you need. The price was perfect, the bed was soft, and the water pressure was great. Negative: The bedroom didn’t have a window but the bathroom did.
The rooms are decent, good location, excellent staff. Bathroom was a bit cramped (no sink space or shelf to put a toiletries bag) and AC was a little hard to use.
This place was absolutely fantastic for my stay in New Orleans. The staff was incredible and kind, seriously, ever single person I interacted with that works here is amazing! The location is perfect for access to just about anywhere in the city and I couldn't have been happier with our stay.
