Hendrickson House

Just got back from staying in Apt 2 at Hendrickson house. Apartment was large spacious, not cluttered and clean. Layout of apartment allowed for privacy. Did not find the apartment noisy, no one in our group had any complaints. It was great to have three bathrooms. Housekeeping came in daily to remove garbage and bring in fresh towels. Would absolutely go again. We brought some bikes with us and rented some bikes from Aldo's, the staff was friendly and helpful there. They even helped us with our own bikes.

We stayed at the Hendrickson House for two nights in July 2015. We were in Room 1, which is on the second floor facing the street. |The location is close to the ferry in Old Harbor. Check in is at the Harborside Inn front desk. They have a secure area for your bags in case you want to explore while waiting for your room or after check out, while waiting for the ferry.|Our room was ready when we arrived. We stayed at Hendrickson house in Apt 2 on the 3rd floor this past week. It was perfect for traveling with my sister and her family. We had 8 people total and we did not feel cramped. It was advertised as 3 bedrooms: 2 queens and a 2twin room plus a pull out but in reality there is a 4th "bedroom" off of the family room with a queen bed. The couch does not pull out. The 4th room has glass french doors so there is no privacy so that may be why they don't claim it as a room but it worked great for my kids. The apartment was recently redone and was very nice and clean. The balcony is small with seating for 4. The location was great with easy access to everything in town. Hendrickson House is located right in the heart of the Old Harbor area. We were without a car, so it was great to be able to walk to dining, ice cream, shopping, bike rentals, etc. The 1661 Inn manages this property, so they are available to help with arrival and departure (after 9:00 a.m.) if they are notified by noon the day before. The 1661 Inn is about 10 walking minutes away.

I was looking for a place that could hold 3 people and this was one of the only options. I saw in some of the reviews that the place was noisy (it is right in downtown, on Chapel Street) and that since there was a cigar shop in the same building, people smelled cigar smoke. I figured I was just there for one night, so it would be fine.||I was extremely surprised in a really good way. Granted, it was a Tuesday night, but there was still a lot of activity going on outside of the room, and yet we didn't hear anything (on weekends there is a band at Aldo's next store, so I suppose then that would be noisy).
