Haywood Park Hotel, an Ascend Collection Hotel

We stayed several days exploring the Asheville area. This was the perfect hotel for us. It was very clean. Staff was helpful and attentive. It is a historic setting with the perfect nod to its former use. While it is not a luxury hotel the boutique quaintness was more fitting for what we were looking for.

Tim at the front desk and Owen at the Valet stand made an excellent first impression and overall great experience in general that we will have to remember the hotel by. Tim made us feel very welcome and we chatted with him for awhile about the hotel’s history and local nearby spots. Excellent at his job!! The welcome champagne was an outstanding touch after a long day driving. Owen was very friendly and helpful with valet and bell service. I hope this impression stays in our memory versus the valet attendant who told us at check out that we need to request car now versus later (when we wanted to have breakfast first) as he needs to move cars. It caught us by surprise since we had such excellent service the day before. Overall we loved the hotels history, uniqueness and walkability!

Haywood Park Hotel has perfect location just in the middle of downtown and close to everything! I was amazed when I entered in the lobby: spacious, full of light and very clean. I was welcomed with a glass of Champaign and was told that my room was ready. Young woman on the front desk was very polite and answered all my questions. Actually, everybody on front desk during my stay were very nice, polite and helpful. Room was luxurious, specious, good organized, had a lot of light and very clean. I enjoyed coffee in the morning and HBO TV in the evening! I missed only couple things: a bar for a glass of wine and breakfast in the morning. However, I went to roof bar nearby and had wonderful breakfast in Early Girl Eatery very close to hotel. I had always free bottle of water on front desk.

Our room was located above the bar that had a band playing very loudly until midnight. We could not sleep, so my husband went to the front desk and requested a room change (after attempting to call with no answer). He was told we would be moved to a sister property down the street and to return to the desk at 8:00am to speak with Amber who was the manager who could make the move happen (the night clerk called her and this was Amber's instruction). He returned at 8:00 and was told she would be there at 9:00am. We packed up our room and returned at 9:00 and were told she was at the other property and upon further inspection had determined they did not have,a room for us. Beautiful historic hotel. Absolutely loved my suite — what a surprise. I was having a medical procedure done and needed a microwave to get ready for it. Dana was absolutely fantastic at helping me; she had one in the room when I arrived. I couldn't have it made it through the necessary prep without it. Everyone I interacted with was professional, courteous, and ready to answer any questions I had. Austin provided a quick expert checkout at 4:30am, he even brought my car to me since valet wasn't on duty. All in all was a superlative experience.
